[2025 TRC] New Zealand v South Africa (EDEN PARK)

I actually thought Dickson had a decent game. Yes it was a tight finish - but, as a test match, I thought it was quite mediocre. Ellis Park 2013 it wasn't. I think the score flattered the Boks - the All Blacks were by far the better team. Even though I didn't think the ABs were amazing, they at least looked like they knew what they were trying to do, and at least they had an attacking shape. SA looked poor, Pollard had a stinker - got to start SFM next week. This is not the Springbok team of the last 5/6 years - they look well off the pace and I’m not sure Tony Brown’s input is actually helping. Having said that, I think you’ll see a hell of a response next week - Rassie will read them the riot act after that one.

I agree that Tony Brown isn't helping. The Boks 2 tries came from old fashioned Bok rugby. I think they are better off playing to their strengths rather than trying to be something that they're not.

Same with the defence, they should stick with the blitz defence, not whatever they are trying to do.

It appears that the Boks are a team in transition. Rassie has created a wonderful team for the ages which won 2 WCs. He now needs to create another team, if we can do this and win another world cup he will be the best ever coach in the history of rugby.

These things take time. Rassie has identified something in his player pool and got Brown in to effect it. SA don't care one bit how they do two years, even 12 months out from a WC. They'll be there or thereabouts.

Not something I enjoy saying or want to happen, but I've seem this one too many times before.

It does seem that the Boks, more than any other team, are happy to forego success between World Cups, if it means success at the World Cup.

watched at the pub, great mix of Aussies, Saffas and kiwis, good chat and hand shakes all around

I think we surprised south Africa and our selves with a couple of early tries before both teams settled into the arm wrestle

I still havent found anyone that can explain the midfield lineout thing...people just say its setting a maul...but you dont need to do that to set a maul....its weird, the cynic in me thinks it an attempt to milk a penalty tackling someone in the air

what do i expect razor to do?...the players with big question marks like BB, scooter and Christie....theyre safe...they guys that stood out like parker and vaai....will get dropped or at best moved to other positions, see christian lio willie playing for otago over the weekend after looking very comfortable against france
