Confirmed Transfers

Khwezi Mona (SA) Sharks => Exeter

Weird signing to me.
Ex have 8 props already, so signing an injured 32 year old with 4 first class starts to his name seems... like either All.Rugby have done him wrong, or something...

ETA: Wiki agrees that he's barely played above Currie Cup; whilst even the BBC's spin of "more than 50 starts for the Sharks" isn't really a huge number for a 32 year old; and includes Sharks, Sharks (Currie Cup) and "SharksXV" - even then Wiki can't bring that up to 50 (All.rugby doesn't track Currie Cup)

Back-five forward Fergus Lee-Warner is swapping the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the Tyne Bridge after agreeing to join Newcastle Red Bulls.

The English-qualified 31-year-old will arrive from New South Wales Waratahs, signing on a one-year deal.

Another quality signing, now for some backs please.

Makes sense he was one of the guys Dimes signed before right for Worcester

God if you get the eyes of dimes you are set for life pretty in terms of work

Personally not sure he is really needed but suspect it's more a case of scooping up anyone free who is decadent atm guessing he’s going to play lock?

Yeah I thought we were done with the forwards if I'm honest, but he looks like a solid signing, English qualified and on a year contract. Hopefully the next signings are back row players as we are desperate in that area.

At the moment we'll be operating a 7-1 split on the bench...or 8-0 ...and will have back rowers at 12 wing and all sorts.
Look at the squad depth... you technically can do a 5:3 bench now, but even 1 injury means either going 6:2, or having 2 SHs on the bench.

He';s a good player.
If you have any more forwards to sign, THP is the only area you'd be looking for, surely.

And then, I assume you mean "backline" rather than "back row" above.

We have a few options now...him and Hawkins being "back 5" players means we can go with a bigger 6 if we need to power ip the pack..

Swapping the Blue Bulls for the Red Bulls, South African fly-half Boeta Chamberlain has become Newcastle's latest recruit ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old will arrive on Tyneside following the conclusion of the Currie Cup in his homeland, joining on a one-year deal.

Another good signing, keep them coming 👏👏👏

How many signings is that now for Newcastle? Must be getting up there. And few I know few i don't but how many will take them up the table this season and how far based on their squad?(if it clicks)

Doesn't seem quality, but a much needed warm body - who covers FH & FB.
Exactly what's needed right now, quality can come in for next year, and even then it just needs to be "good enough" whilst academy, pathways and coaching are improved

Hence the one year contract, we get the opportunity to see over this season what he is like 👍

We only have to be ahead of Exeter ;)
Tbh I dont hate our team and with the addition of ikitau and Hooper, and IFW returning we have some firepower, I just hope the aussies can get up to speed as they've had no pre season.

Would have liked a new FH but oh well I think we have enough ;)

With regards to relegation, i thought the Prem wanted to expand the league. Im surprised they havent said Champ winners are automatic promotion and the play off is with the second placed team.

Good tool to see completed transfers per team.
Missing a few of ours (though a couple of them I guess were mid-season leavers last year) but still pretty bleak,

Jibuliu is a great pick up but Louw is completely unneeded, Vermeulen I guess makes sense but backrow isn't really an area of weakness (I'm guessing EvR is now a fulltime lock) and then Logan isn't really one for now

Desperately need a lock (or two) and could really do with a 13 and probably some back 3 cover too

Wenger to Quins now confirmed. Boris, not Arsene … although I would be happy if Boris could achieve some of his namesake's success.
