Confirmed Transfers

If this Red Bull deal goes ahead which is now looking likely, and Diamond has stated hes looking for 20 players. Theres a fair few being released that could be exactly what he wants....older proven top level performers , like Gordon, Arnold and Nield who he brought in straight away last season.
Who are Newcastle releasing?

would expect players like John Kelly, Oscar Stott, Tim cardall to be released
Well these are the out of contract players in the summer...i cant see many of them being retained if the Red Bull deal goes ahead.

Ben Stevenson is a must and some of the academy lads nailed down.

Some would have to be, surely?
An influx of cash doesn't mean there's suddenly an entire squads worth of players to hire, especially with Worcester getting a head start on the free agents (and sides like Tigers needing a number of players and getting a headstart too)

Cash from new owners takes a season or two before it starts really being felt

Possibly, but Steve Diamond has said himself he is looking for around 20 players...that can only mean many of the soon to be out of contract players are not being renewed. I may be completely wrong but thats how it came across to me.

Ruaridh McConnochie and Louis Schreuder to retire end of season
Where are you seeing retirement?
I've not gone hunting specifically, but the press release says "bringing their playing careers at the club to a close at the end of the season."

ETA: Okay, found it for Ruaridh - moving into coaching; but still not for Louis

Bath's academy leavers:

Abdul-Khalik Akenzua Al-Kareem, Rory Crum, Josh Dingley, Luke Graham, Mackenzie Graham, Will Parry, James Short, Archie Stanley and Raff Weston will be leaving Bath Rugby following the end of this current 2024/25 season.

Parry feels like a miss, maybe Short

I think Coulston has already gone?

out of those circumstances depending I'd be looking to keep:
Bello
Byrne
Fletcher
2 of the 3 locks
Leatherbarrow
VDW
Hutchinson
Doherty
Clarke
Stevenson
Brown

And then maybe all of the academy lads bar Stott

Faiva and Stewart confirmed - 2 braces of departures today
Also confirms that Verden is off - but without the send-off (which he had last year, before returning to cover Griffin's injury)

Bath sign Chris Harris on a one year deal
That's surprising
Won't command the salary he once did, but still an international/lion
Guess they need cover with Ojomoh knocking on the England door, Lawrence a mainstay when fit, and Redpath made of particularly fragile wafer thin glass
