This scared the crap out of me, couldn't imagine how he felt.

Ah good to see driving and filming at the same time.

But I seriously thought that the piece of wood was coming from the lorry and not where it actually came from.

Where did it come from?

Side of the road, or at least it looks like that.

Around the 31 second mark, seems the car in front goes over it and it flicks it up.

Whoa!!! Crap!!!!!!! Are you alright??? that scared me and i'm just sitting at the computer...

this, i suppose, is the reason for me being arrested and lectured on the dangers of standing next to a motorway hitchhiking...

still, i call fake. who films themselves driving on a motorway?

Reality Porn websites?

Lots of drivers in Japan and Canada film themselves with dashcams.

I'm more surprised there was no reaction, defiantly could have been shock (I think the driver can be heard breathing hard?). Still find it curious why the driver was filming.

WTF?

Reminds me of a story I read a few months ago in a newspaper, of how a paramedic and his wife/girlfriend were just driving along, and some kids were throwing stuff off from an overhead bridge, one of the things was a long sharp metal pole, which went through the womans face leaving a gaping hole, luckily her partner was a medic.

Gotta echo the sentiments of the posters above, why was the driver filming...

Bloody hell, scared the crap outa me, mainly because I was looking for it to come off the back of the lorry the whole time.

Reminds me of when I was younger, on our way back from Cardiff along the M4, dad driving. Bloody ladder fell off the roof of the transit in front, we were lucky it was late at night and there wasn't many cars on the road, so dad just swerved around it. It was before the age of the mobile, or at least we were slow to catch on as a family living out in the sticks, so couldn't report it straight away, noticed there was a cop car a few cars behind, so they would sort it out anyway.

sh!ttin hell that must have been scary as f!!k. Crazy that something like that was just on the road. Agree that there didn't seem to be a huge reaction tho, i guess they were that shocked :O :O

Ok- so I only posted this video because my son wanted to see if we could get 1,000 hits. And I thought maybe having a little fun with it might help me deal with it too. I disabled comments because people were being so incredibly mean. So far I've Bren accused of faking it (really?), been blamed for everything from the high price of gas global warming, and it was getting out of hand. Believe it or don't, it really did happen. Analyze the why's and how's if you need to, but I only thought it was an incredible dose of reality and that people would be shocked to see it. And really people, why in the world would you have to be so hateful??? Pay attention at the 30 second mark. No- it wasn't an April Fools joke, it really happened, and I was fine.

Thats the little info bit about the video.
