Nominations out. Props aren't rugby players apparently but I agree otherwise.

Any of those South Africans are deserving of POTY. Doris played himself out of the running v NZ and in the second half last week but still worthy of a nomination.

Sititi or IFW ahead of the other deserving candidates.

I think PSDT should get player of the year - and as much as I'd love to say IFW should win breakthrough player of the year, you just can't look past Sititi. I thought he was a good player in Super Rugby but he's gone up a level in the Black Jersey. Barring injury he's nailed on for 100 caps.

I'd say Porter was probably Ireland's best player ahead of Doris this year too. A prop has never been nominated and when you think of some of the guys SA and NZ have had as well and Furlong at his best it's so wrong.

Feel like world rugby regularly undermines the game's legitimacy in favour of highlight reel stuff in an attempt to get eyes on the sport. And then don't do near enough to tap into upcoming tier 2 / 3 sides for new markets.

Ox has been the best and most consistent Bok all year.

And unlike his compatriots, he is peerless. There is no one in world rugby close to him at loose head right now.
would have been my pick too. tupou vaai has also been very good. A ridiculous amount of defensive lineout steals. But set piece doesn't matter apparently.
