World Cup Jerseys

Ye been waiting and going to Lovell to check and its slightly weird, might post on the Lovell Rugby wall on FB to see what the reply is.

Yeah the black bit looks horrible, hoping it's just shading for where grippy panels are going

I like the Australian Jersey. (Home obviously)

It's about time we get back to the plain gold jersey, that is our colour, we don't need fancy garbage like on the 2007 WC jersey. I'm not always a fan of the southern cross on sporting jerseys, but it appears to be a nice touch.

As for the away Jersey, i hope it never sees the light of day.

Maybe the AB's could fit the Southern Cross from our flag into the design... It would cover the Red/Black thing for Christchurch...

Yeah, though the USA jersey is a tad loud, it certainly brings something new to the game. The 2nd one is just awful though.

As for the Scotland jersey, same with SA, the CCC jersey is growing on me slowly but surely. I think the black bit on the Scottish one will just be a very dark navy but I would have liked for the trimming to be white instead of gold; the gold makes sense for SA because our jersey has always been green with a bit of gold (even if it turns out to be more orange than anything else) while it'd be weird to have a Scottish jersey with no white but some gold out of left field.

Overall I like the Aus jersey the least though I think the Kooga jerseys for the islander teams are great.

Coult that big cross in the middle of the Scotland Jersey possibly be CCC's attempt at incorporating a Claymore into the Scottish jersey?

I hate Canada's jersey. It would be a great jersey to wear for a club team, but to represent my country I find it week. I would have loved something that looked similar the picture, or just anything that has a large leaf on it. Makes us look so sharp on the pitch.

Ireland RWC shirt

what's with the dress lenght?

Apparently the reason why Lovell have not shown the images yet because they have not been released by their respective nations.

The Ireland Jersey ...what the hell...I have seen people in town in shorter dresses than that.. all the lads will need in that is a dollop of fake tan , a bit of nipple tape and high heels of a suicidally dangerous hight and they are ready to go out on the pull...

Then again again not everyone dresses the same way as me...

Coult that big cross in the middle of the Scotland Jersey possibly be CCC's attempt at incorporating a Claymore into the Scottish jersey?

my guess is that the black bit will turn out to be an area of the grip stuff they always put on the test level jerseys, CCC had the little cevrons going down the sleeves on the last design and the "bra" design under the badges on the one before that

Meh, Canada always has pretty much the same kit. Saves me from buying a new one.

That black one is rather striking.

Ireland RWC shirt

I have just found out that this is not Ireland's Rugby World Cup Jersey.

Source if from a IRFU Supporter's Club Site Admin (BarryC)

The http://www.boutique-rugby.com/media...9eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/f/i/file_28_31.jpg , the image no longer exists in this location although it is the same one as referred to earlier in the thread.

Also BarryC, the Site Admin I previously mentioned also revealed their is a new playing jersey being released in June (which will be used for the Summer Test Series Matches) and then the RWC Jersey will be released in August.

The Welsh Rugby Union is giving the power to reveal its new 2011 Rugby World Cup kit directly to fans online at www.wru.co.uk/youdecide (the link will be live tomorrow, Wed, at 12 noon).

From 12 noon tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd June) for every 5,000 'likes' received on the 'youdecide' application on the WRU's page on the social networking site Facebook, a square will fall away revealing one of Welsh Rugby's leading stars wearing the new technologically advanced kit.

The new design will be worn for the first time when Wales take on England and Argentina in the RWC warm-up matches scheduled this summer, will feature at the World Cup in New Zealand and be the pride of Welsh rugby fans and players alike for the next two years.

The kit will be on sale in shops and online from Thursday 30th June (with pre-orders already being taken at www.wru.co.uk but the power to unveil its exact look and specifications has been given exclusively to fans.

The WRU has targeted a Millennium Stadium filling 70,000 'likes' before the final square will be revealed - however, special bonus squares along the way will also reveal footage of the kit being worn by Wales stars in clips which show the strip in greater and greater clarity.

"We have taken the decision to try something different with this kit and reveal it exclusively to fans before anyone else gets to see it," said WRU Group head of marketing Craig Maxwell.

"This kit is going to be a unique product on the world market and the patented designs from Under Armour have taken the science behind producing elite sports clothing to a whole new level.

"We think the design is something to behold and by utilising the social networking sites we are trying to give the jersey straight to the fans - who will of course be quick to let us know what they think of it.

"For the first time this world cup kit will be worn both before and long after the tournament has finished - obviously without the RWC logo - meaning it also has increased value for our fans who can wear it right into the 2012/2013 season and remain bang up to date."

The new Wales 2011 RWC kit is available now on pre-order from www.wru.co.uk. It will officially be revealed in a shop near you from 1 July 2011, but fans can see it first on Facebook from tomorrow at 12 noon. Prices range from £29.99 through to £84.99 depending on size and styles which range from 0-6 through to XXL and are available in long sleeve, short sleeve, replica and authentic.

THE TECHNICAL STORY:

The new Wales Rugby World Cup kit, produced by Under Armour, will be the most technologically advanced kit on display in the 2011 tournament in New Zealand this Autumn.

The Wales squad will be kitted out in revolutionary new jerseys made from military grade fabric (Cordura), featuring new 'ArmourGrid' technology which gives extreme strength, durability and freedom of movement and 'ArmourGrip' which offers increased ball control.

The specialist source fabric has a long history of military use and is also found in motorcycle jackets. It has been uniquely engineered by Under Armour to provide a 'no-grab' jersey and short which is both lightweight and mapped to the athlete's body to give maximum mobility.

Body mapping of the kit means that certain areas, around the inner arms and side panels allow for extra flexibility required for freedom of movement whilst retaining extreme fabric strength in other areas and offering minimum absorption of water or sweat.

The technology doesn't stop with the jersey and shorts, the socks feature mapped compression insets to provide anatomical support to key performance areas, such as the calves, and an embedded arch support to reduce foot fatigue.

The socks also boast ArmourBlock technology to assist in the prevention of odour causing bacteria and strategic ventilation to wick moisture and accelerate evaporation.

"The important thing to note is that this concept is revolutionary not evolutionary," said Steve McMahon, Senior Product Line Manager at Under Armour.

"We are looking to change the industry when it comes to the approach for building rugby uniforms".

"We didn't stop after making the jersey and short, this new Wales RWC kit offers a complete story of innovation from head to toe."

Jersey and Short Details:
- Fabric "family" capitalizing on multiple fabric story for extreme strength, durability and freedom of movement.

- NEW ArmourGrid technology (visual story as the grid is the key component of the technology):

2. Lightweight material (lightest rugby jersey in the market) to facilitate speed and endurance longevity.

4. Minimalistic fabric density to perpetuate less absorption.

- Body mapped compression insets for maximized mobility.

- ArmourGrip technology for increased ball control.

- Value added back neck details linking back to Welsh and team culture.

Is that an image of Shane Williams being a swallow diving c*nt? I thought Chris Ashton was the only c*nt who did that... [/sarcasm]

Ah I see we have another witty Irish member above ...

They were on 38k likes when they started this,
Can't see them pretty much doubling that by the time of the official launch (I had already liked it before)

Nice socks/shorts anyway.... :p
