the download section is "broken" at the moment. I am not sure whats going on with it, hopefully it can be sorted soon as I am getting sick of PMing out my editor lol

btw geostar, sent you the link :)[/b]

Is there anyway to donwload your editor program? as i cannot download it through the rugby forum, as the download section might still be broken.
Thank you

Try getting more posts guys and pm one of the head coaches to find out how many posts you need before downloading from TRF.The limit was 10 posts but after the revamp I don't know what the limit is now, could be 20,could be 50...can't say.I don't think its the link that is broken because I downloaded it 2 days ago...so try pm one of the head coaches, maybe one of them could help...

Cheers
Ross

I've checked again and the link is working,I can download the editor no problem.

The only link that is "broken" is the one on the first page, its the link to the download section before the revamp.

Try using this link:

Edit: please dont post the link to the file, if they want it they can PM me.

let me know if it works...?

Cheers

Just wondering how exactly you figure out the format of the *.ROS file? (Apart from Using the editor.)

Do to you a special program to read it?
Or just use the Hex Editor and figure it out one by one?

The link I provided there was not directly to editor file but to the download section where the editor is located because the link on the first page of this thread does not exist anymore.

Sorry if I was wrong in doing that Woosaah, was just trying to help B)

P.S. Can we expect an update of your brilliant editor next year?

Hi Wossah,
Any chance of adding a global edit by position function? (i.e: globally set the stats of all tighthead props, fly halves..etc.).
Only reason why I'm asking, is because I edited a complete legends roster using global edit and accidentally saved it (everyones stats are at 99 now). Now I have to painstakingly edit each players stats individually.
Cheers mate

where do i go to download the file

Hey woosaah

Is there any chance of having the weight in kg's and the height in meters in the editor along with the current pound and feet?will just be much faster to update a roster because some sites give the player's height and weight in feet and pounds while some other sites gives it in kg's and meters...

Cheers

Yea, that would be great, here in south america we don`t use pounds and feets and that always confuse me

You use a hex editor, change something ingame and then do a compare. If you're lucky it will be simple hex and you'll only need to work out the byte to edit. If you're unlucky then it will be a combination of 2 or 3 bytes, binary and there will be unknown (unused) variables.
Cracking a roster can be actually be a lot of fun (!) but it's also very slow and painful sometimes. It's something anyone can do though - I've taught at least 4 or 5 people how to use a hex editor to crack the values. Ditto actually making an editor: people always assume it is much harder than it is.

I am still working on an update for my editor. trying to sort out some bugs. just finding the time is the hardest part.

I think i really need a new interface, as i am not much of an interface person more a programmer i am a bit of a loss there :) it looks really bad i know lol

Generally, i found that the best values for weights are..

Props/Hookers - 260-300. 300 would be for a very heavy prop, like Fosi Pala'amo and 260 would be a more mobile frontrower.
Locks - 230-260. Some locks are getting on for 18/19st if they are 6'7'' or taller.
Back Row - 220-240. Some backrows are pretty big, like Dani Rossouw and Henry Tuilagi, so i think 240 is fine for them with a high strength rating.
Backs 185-200 - Most pros are 14st, which i equate to 200. If you give them less strength and tackling it is more realistic. For guys like Alesana Tuilagi and Ma'a Nonu, i use about 260, as the size difference is reasonable but they are quicker and more mobile than tight 5's.

Hi Guys, got a question on the rosters, whenever I downlaod a new roster for TRF the file name comes up as roster.ros.ros, compared to Rugby 06 where it was just roster.ros, is there a specific reason for this?
