Wimbledon

She can't be expected to just turn up to Wimbledon and win it like she did with the US open, when she first burst onto the scene.
Did anyone give an impression of that expectation?

Novak - classy with a racquet, less so with a microphone.
Persecution complex in full force.

Media, just general impression once all other Brits went out and Murray's "retirement." All expectation on Emma to go as far as she can and win it, especially with the way the draw has opened up. When she's under no real condition to.

I like Djokovic (apart from the No Vax years). Great player, looked after himself, but mentally very very tough. It's the last bit that's really made the difference for him.

Think he just felt disrespected by certain group of fans (Rune's). He's had to put up with it around the world. But Had enough last night. He's not the most loved but sure as hell has the ***les/slams/weeks at no.1 to back it up and shut the doubters up.

Should get to another Wimbledon final, which would be incredible given he only had knee surgery a month ago. Will be the last of the big 4 standing and still battling the current generation. Another battle with Alcaraz in the final would be welcomed.

Men's semi finals day. Carlitos first up v Medvedev. Novak later v Musetti. Hoping for another Alcaraz v Djokovic final.

Over in the ladies we have a newcomers final. Paolini v Krejcikova. Tough one to call, but Paolini being the higher seed would be the favourite but Krejcikova has the Grand slam final experience having won the French open 3 years ago.

Carlos into the final. Played some mixed but still played some brilliant stuff to get through. Has a wonderful ability like Rafa to put a bad patch behind him and raise his level.

Djokovic looked half a step slow out there - mostly caused by how mobile and accurate Alcaraz is. Reminded me of when Sampras was at the tail end of his career and got smashed by Hewitt and Safin.

What a player Carlos is. Tightened up when serving for it but made up for it in the tie break. Back to back Wimbledon ***les. 🏆🏆 And the channel slam at the age of 21.

20 to go and he's got more than Federer, Nadal and Djokovic at the same age, so wouldn't put it past him and he's arguably more complete - a combo of the aforementioned. Tennis unlike Golf is a bit more predictable when it comes to winning majors, especially on the men's side.

Can't say I know much about tennis but have got into it with the Netflix series but you have to think he has a chance at least. Essentially has an extra major chance each year too considering Rafa isn't there to dominate on clay.

Seems like a very nice and clued in kid too.

Definitely. Once Federer, Nadal and Murray have gone, he's filling the void. Novak is not well loved (apart from his own fans), as you have seen, despite an unbelievable record. I suspect as soon as he gets 25 (which he still has every chance of) he'll retire.

The rest of the so called next generation haven't really ignited the imagination like Carlos. Sinner will probably be his biggest rival and Medvedev, but only on the hard courts.

That Netflix series bombed because it felt like a PR exercise.

Djokovic has no personality (or rather, he has a sh*te one). He's the Cristiano Ronaldo of tennis.

Like Roger and Rafa, Alcaraz has been likeable from the beginning. Great to see his career get off to such a brilliant start.
