Italia's national stadium is Stadio Olimpico in Roma. I do not understand why.
Italia's professional clubs are in Parma (Zebre) and Treviso (Benetton Treviso), in the northern part of the country.
Then, why is the national stadium in Roma, the southern part of the country?

I reckon because it's the capital. Most teams have their national stadium in the capital; France (Paris), England (London), Wales (Cardif), Scotland (Edinburgh) etc...

In the 6 nations you have to stage your games in the capital, it is a requirement.

Sige, What does is matter?? It's the Union's choice.

South Africa doesn't even have a national Rugby Stadium, so what does it matter??

Link? I thought the requirement was for only one stadium to be used throughout, rather than city. Wales of course played at Wembley in the 90's, and Italy were originally planning on moving from the Stadio Flaminio to Florence until changing their mind.

Checking on that, i swear it was with an interview with the chairman for the 6 nations.
