Okay, now to make the poll...

Which one of the above players would you like to have in your team/ squad the most?
I chose players which imo are fairly prominent, and most importantly over 34 years of age

I have inserted the option of 'Other', in case I left somone out, or you simply prefer another old player. If you do select 'Other', please tell us whom that would be.

Edit: Only players currently playing Superugby

I love Umaga but Thorn is a better player these days.

I voted for Thorn, but Tony Brown made it a hard call.
The guy is just impressive: he has never been outstanding, he looks 47 years old at least, yet he still plays super rugby.

Why no frontrowers as like a fine wine we get better with age.

Aye, find me a decent 34+ front-rower in the S15, I checked the squad lists of every franchise to no avail.
The closest was John Smit, but you might have better luck than me

Nathan Sharpe, still playing almost every week after 143 super rugby games. We missed him tonight when he went off early, we lost so much in the line out.

Radike Samo IMO has been the most consistent of the oldies this year. Although I haven't seen much of Thorn.

No Simon Shaw? Damn Its scientifically accepted that he caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Which Super Rugby franchise does he play for? Answer that, and you'll realise why he's not on the list.

My bad, I didn't realise this was the Super rugby section.

...but still, can't we make an exception? :)

Samo better than Thorn?

He has been impressive this year but I'm not sure he'll even make the Wallabies.

In terms of a good front rower still playing first class rugby in New Zealand, Kees Meeuws is right up there at 36 years old. He could have easily fitted in the Highlanders. Another oldie who has played for the Crusaders this year is 36 year old Reuben Thorne (albeit he came in as cover).
