Where will Peel go?

So Dwyane Peel is apparently moving back to Wales this summer. Where should he go? The Scarlets and Dragons won't be able to afford him, while the Ospreys have 900 Scrum Halves, including one of the best in the world, Mike Philips. The Blues seem the obvious choice, with Richie Rees (Unexperienced) and Gareth Cooper (Poor form) currently their only options at 9.

Or will he go to Ulster or Munster, as rumoured, or even stay at Sale?

Personaly, I'd like to see him go to the Ospreys, and we lose Philips to France. Peel is the sort of player who would ignite the Ospreys backline, where as Philips (A crashy SH) is the wrong type of Scrum-Half for the Ospreys delicate backs. If we need a huge scrum-half, Tom Isaacs is always there, even if he isn't quite as good. Plus, chances are, Philips would come backa better player anyway.

Idealy, though, he'd go to the Dragons (Even if it is at the cost of Wayne Evans, who I really do rate.) but that just won't happen.

Nowhere! (hopefully) :p I read an interview with him a while back, saying he's not necessarily going to leave Sale as he's settled in round there with his girlfriend, could just be saying that as i'm sure it was on the Sale website

My guess would be the Scarlets, as that's where he came from in the first place,
I can't imagine him going to the Ospreys as he'd be playing second fiddle to Philips,
I read a rumour somewhere that the Blues were interested, but then again, all the regions will be 'interested' just whether or not they make a bid

He should head to Ulster. Boss is a good player, but Peel is world-class. He would work well with the Ulster team, who play a fast game.

If he leaves Sale, he'll probably return to the Scarlets. I can't see him playing for one of the other regions, and playing in Irelend doesn't necessarily mean he'll be available for Gatland, in the same way he hasn't been for some games while being in Sale.

The Scarlets may not be able to offer the most money, but that won't stop him imo (same way it didn't stop Stephen Jones).

By the sounds of it he'll be going all the way to the bank. While laughing, presumably.

He's staying at Sale for two years. Apparently Sale bought the world's biggest checkbook just for him.

The more pertinent question is; when was he last any good?
Pundits, media and my mates have been saying he's the best in the world 'on form' for the last 5 years now! Full on taking the ****.

This. He hasn't been anywhere near that good for any team since the Scarlets in the Heineken Cup quarter final in '07.

This whole "one of the best in the world" talk is crap, and has been for ages.

I'm surprised that they've signed him.
He's never been entirely the first choice no.9 for them and he's never shown great consistent form for them.
I was always under the impression that he wasn't happy there. Shows how wrong i was.

With Wigglesworth gone, we've now got Peel and two just-out-of-academy scrumhalves, so he's very much at the top of the pecking order (unless we sign someone new)
Though that mightn't be the best for Peels Wales hopes as before, Kingsley Jones could be a bit lenient with him, knowing that if Peel was away training with Wales, he could play Wigglesworth
