Yeah with JGP struggling for fitness lately there was a very good chance that he could have started the tests. Good for the Lions kicking game with JGP in but Williams was the form guy around the park.

Still, far from the worse injury the squad could face considering you have Europe's form 9 not called Antoine Dupont of the last three years.

Do back JGP to find form again in warm up games, exactly what he needs to get his passing and support game back to an elite level.

More that it's his second ****ly one in quick succession and I'm always wary of calf injuries for players who cover a large amount of metres. Also his form has been shaky since the 6n imo.

Selection should not be based on games against Western Force and Queensland Reds. Stuart and Furlong are better scrummagers than Bealham and against a top international loosehead like Angus Bell I want my best scrummagers on the pitch.

Ireland's set piece in general was awful this year. I think it's more down to coaching. Leinster's was better, and perfect v the Bulls who rode their scrum to the final.

He's good for a random penalty like today but I think that's refs trying to do a Wayne Barnes impression.

Bealham is a really good scrummager these days. He's played plenty of top level games where it hasn't been an issue.
