CARDIFF Rugby Football Club Limited was listed in court today over an unpaid tax bill.
The organisation, which runs both the Cardiff Blues and Cardiff Rugby Club, is in the Companies Court Winding Up List at Her Majesty’s Court Service in London.
The company has been in arrears with its tax bill, but executives said today that all the bills have been paid and the court hearing is just a “technicality.â€
Cardiff Blues chief executive Bob Norster said: “The hearing relates to a tax bill before Christmas but we sorted it out immediately.
“HM Revenue and Customs wrote to us and said there’s no case to answer.â€
Cardiff Rugby Club’s finance director Alan Doull added: “It’s just a legal technicality where somebody has to stand up in the court and say ‘yes they’ve paid the bill.â€
“We were about a month in arrears but we paid it and had a letter on February 1 to say it’ all sorted.â€[/b]
