What TV Show's are you watching/looking forward to?

I can see it going. I only watch it randomly and the last season was just a mess. It's felt a bit lost since Capaldi's era.
I can't see it happening now Disney are involved. It may go on a bit of hiatus like it did mid Tennant years but it kinda did that post-Jodie.

I've also no idea what the international market is like and streaming numbers.

It also reads like its still hitting the target demographic from that entire article and is just click bait.

Funnily enough, Disney being involved is a major reason it probably will go. Streaming companies tend to be very quick at chopping shows that don't perform well. I know the viewership numbers have sunk again with last Christmas being pretty low too.

Yeah on shows that relatively new not with 60 years of history and recognition of it. That's why they are still producing Star Wars shows.

I guess the variable there will be the BBC. Disney might drop it, but it's up the BBC to carry on if they wish. 🤔

Just a rumour, but an interesting one.

So, the rumour is the show hasn't been cancelled, but put on hold while a reset takes place. They're apparently not happy with the direction RTD has took the show, so are now restarting it with a new doctor etc. 🤔

I guess that makes sense seeing as RTD is off doing other things and we've heard that a regeneration has been filmed.

Was really looking forward to the third series of The White Lotus.
Already on Ep 4 and its been a bit of a disappointment so far.

I think the BBC took Dr Who off the BBC America cable channel and sold distribution to Disney for more money.

As far as I know Disney doesn't have any input or editorial say.

Disney's money probably just ups the production budget plus some money to the BBC.

BBC sold Torchwood to the starz channel who promptly Americanised it and took it to it's death.

It's like, will Amazon's James Bond suddenly become an American?

Tentatively excited for that - hopefully it's because they've got a script/story good enough that they wanted to make, and not that the cheque was big enough to convince them

I remember reading interviews where they said the former would be the only reason they'd bring it back, so fingers crossed

On one hand I fricking love Ted Lasso (I recommend Shrinking incidentally to anyone who loves Ted too)

Slightly concerned by the girls team aspect not for stupid Ted's gone woke reasons, Ted is woke as **** and anyone who thinks otherwise is mad. But the story was about IMHO masculinity in the modern age about how guys can be guys but not toxic and how we better versions of ourselves. I also think the story was done especially with Ted's story arc.

I guess its more likely to be Ted Lasso Part 2 Season 1 with and entirely new arc for the characters.

I also loved Ted Lasso, but I will admit it was struggling a bit in the third series.

Total agreement on your last paragraph.

Sorry but third season had Roy Kent learns to ride a bike and that's comedy gold.

Just finished all of Last Kingdom and the movie

Was(/am) a big fan of the books, but never got around to watching the show other than the first season when it was first on the BBC
It starts out pretty faithful but drifts further and further as it goes on - which I do get, because there's a ton of books/content to be putting in. Also the action gets a bit more..."Hollywood" as you go through, less shield walls and more spinning sword fight choreography.
Hard to suspend your disbelief at times with some of the actor/actress choices - well, more their decision not to age them. Alfred's wife looks basically the same in S5 as S1, but in S5 she has adult grandchildren - thank the actress was only in her late 20s

Was also surprised to see a few actors/actresses from House of the Dragon in there, must have the same casting people or something (or someone on HotD is a big last kingdom fan)

All that said: it's an enjoyable watch, I love the history of that time period - definitely scratched a swords and shields and politics itch that Game of Thrones left

I love The Last Kingdom.
One of my favourite series, the film was good too 😊
I trained as an Historian, so it was right up my alley

Wheel of Time is definitely improving season on season after wobbly first.

Daredevil: Born Again had started pretty strongly.

I'm also watching Andor and Last of Us is prep for the next seasons.

I started watching Adolescence last night on Netflix.
I thoroughly recommend it.
Just watching episode one now and can already tell it's going to be special - but then is there anything that Stephen Graham does that isn't? Genuinely one of the best actors of this generation

Really love how it's filmed as well (all one shot)

I've finished it now and it was really good.
All the cast were exceptional given the way it was filmed.

Yes, Stephen Graham is right up there in terms of acting. Loved his Al Capone in Boardwalk Empire.
