these are the few pairs i looked at i would pay upto £70 for a good pair

Do not get the Nike's as a forward you have to earn the right to wear that colourful boots. Olly's suggestion would be goo or anything from aiscs and canterbury's rugby range. You'll get your toes broken if you wear football boots. Make sure you have 18mm studs as well.

A friend of mine who plays flanker had a pair of Nike's like those, he liked them a lot. I think they're comfortable and lightweight, so good if you like to get your hands on the ball and have a run. Personally i would choose the green pair, they look mint.

Just out of curiosity do you play on muddy pitches or firm pitches? If you play on muddy natural grass then you'll want to have studs or else you'll slip easily but if you play on firm patches or artificial turf then go for the blades.

Realistically backrowers could wear most types of boots, from 8 stud front rower type boots (adidas flanker), to specific loose forward boots (like the r15s) to anything the backs wear (Tom Croft wears the same as Bryan Habana/Dan Carter, Andy Powell/Jamie Heaslip wear the same as James O'connor, Rocky Elsom the same as Miles Benjamin)

Sam Warburton, Dan Lydiate and Richie McCaw also wear R15s, if that sways your choice at all.

11? ;)

I'm also a back rower and the type of boots you get should really depend on where you spend most of your time when you're on the pitch. If you're spending all your time in the ruck thicker leather and more studs would be a smart move, if you tend to get a bit more time with ball in hand when you play you shouldn't rule out some slightly lighter "winger" boots (anything bright and/or neon )
