What games are you playing?

Played God of War recently and my goodness what a gramest game. That and the last of us are in my opinion the best games ever (big claim I know).

I've started the Witcher 3 now and it's a good RPG but still got some disappointing bits in it. I hate killing a great armoured knight only to loot his body for a rubbish sword and a chicken leg, why can't I take his cool looking armour!!! Very frustrating they made it kinda real but not in some ways (if that makes sense).

Amazing game... plat'd it last year but will go back and do literally everything again on it one day... maybe on the PS5 remaster.

sekiro shadows die twice: Watching some streamers play it and looks nice, but I fear what it will do to my blood pressure. Looks harder than Bloodbourne and the Souls games IMO.

Yeah I'm struggling atm and I platinumed everything else (except Bloodborne). I think a lot of it is down to trying to play it like a Souls game, when the combat is quite different. It's f***ing brilliant though.

It's definitely not easy.

I've nearly bitten off some of my fingers in frustration trying to kill the first boss.

The Chalice Dungeons are a proper trudge to get the plat... the chalice amygdala kicked my arse for about 7 hours.

That's exactly where and why I binned off getting the plat. Will end up going through it again sooner or later. I don't think I killed Laurence in the DLC either

Man those DLC bosses are serious... though in fairness Ludwig the Accursed and Orphan are now probably my fave boss fights of all time, can't wait to get stuck into Sekiro.

Looks like you have to be a lot more aggressive in your play style compared to other souls games

I've re-discovered a love of Age of Empires 2. Picked it up cheap on Steam a few weeks ago and discovered a thriving online community on Voobly.

I'm still pretty terrible but it is a great game.

I've been playing it since it came out. 19 years ago i was reasonably good at it.
Still play every now and then (voobly, steam).

Just nipped out at lunch and picked up Sekiro... had to visit 4 different shops as it was sold out everywhere.

I got tomorrow off and have no plans, so gonna sink at least 9-10 hrs in to it and can't wait. Expecting a tough old day of it from the other posts on the game but hopefully I'll have a good understanding of the combat-mechanics by the time I power off tomorrow evening.

Hurled a controller yet?

Nah not yet :), I think your comments (& some of the others) have caused me to play quite cautiously so I'm making consistent (yet slow) progress. It's pretty awesome to fair to the game, very atmospheric as all Fromsoft games are and really playable considering it's my first sesh.

Just eavesdropped on some guards, the gossip of which when combined with a bit of information I paid 100 sen for about 5 minutes ago suggests I need to backtrack a bit to get an item which will help with a big enemy I can currently see in the distance (scary dude with red eyes, chained up). Love how it is all tying together.

Picked up Farcry 5 for £18 off of Amazon

If you've played any other Farcry game you've played this one, but it's one of my favourite series so I'm really enjoying it

Yeah big triple A sale on Amazon atm... just picked up Spider-Man and Assassins Creed Odyssey for £53... though I'm currently balls-deep in Sekiro so won't be starting either for a while.

Also, just read that Sony has opened PlayStation Productions (a new movie and tv production company) to adapt some of their PlayStation exclusives into movies and tv shows... there's been a load of great exclusives this gen but if they (& there is no reason why they shouldn't) adapt God of War (& do it well)...

... well:
