What are you listening to?

i get that coloring book is great piece of production, and really shows that chance is a great artist... but i think think that acid rap is a better listen

I haven't listened to it, I'll make sure to. I'm not a huge fan of the genre admittedly, I really like Kendrick and then a few things by Kanye, Jay Z, Earl Sweatshirt and a few more. More into rock and folk.

i'm kind of the same... not the biggest fan of average rap but guys like kanye, chance, and even casey veggies are real easy to appreciate just based of their production value

I've been on a journey to find non **** Irish rap I like recently. Searched for ages and found like max three songs tbf........

Being listening to this little band that none of you have probably every heard of called Fleetwood Mac and this album called 'Rumours', in particular. It's pretty obscure even for them, but it has a few gems and they might make it big in a few years if they keep plugging away. These two are personal favourites but it is all great stuff.

Have I missed the sarcasm or am I very old?!? Mick Fleetwood is one of the few things to come out of Redruth that anyone's ever heard of!

Yeah don't worry,as that Mysterious Sandwich said it was sarcasm.

In terms of actual little known artists everyone should give Sample Answer (a.k.a. Phil Lynott reincarnated, seriously he looks a bit like him) a go. Great variety in his songs and they're all pretty good. This one in particular seems to be on people generally like although my favourite is 'Good Boy'.

Wasn't this line a clue?

"they might make it big in a few years if they keep plugging away. "

My bad, I got hung up on the first sentence and didn't read the rest of the post properly.

I didn't see how they could be obscure, Stevie Nicks has featured in South Park FFS! ;)

Back on topic, they're the sort of band I can happily listen to if I happen across a BBC4 programme about them, but wouldn't go out of my way for.

If anyone's into older groups, the old BBC Rock Family Tree programmes are well worth watching if you can dig them out anywhere.
