Yeah, any idea what's the deal with that song?
I d/led their album a while ago and saw that song on their.
V. peculiar.

Fratellis - For The Girl

Quote from Corey Taylor (singer;

"We named the track 'Cardiff' because that's where Jim (Root, guitarist) wrote the music," explains Taylor. "I was going to call the track something else, but when we listened back to the song, it made me remember all the good times we've had there and in the UK. It was fitting as we think of the UK as our second home."

Kind of cool, isn't it.

Anyone know NWA or Tone Loc? They're ancient (around 1990) but brilliant. Take a listen and you'll wonder why their annoying imitators didn't die out ten years ago.

Big fan of NWA. I believe Chiro is a fan too. Thats how rap music should still be, that and the G-Funk which followed (basically invented by Dr. Dre). I can't stand this drinking champagne and Cognac scene now. What happened to drinking 40oz bottles and smoking spliffs, not cigars?

Chiro? Guy's a NZutter!

Don't know how NWA did it, because they split up quickly - probably had a one off great producer. The Compton album truly showed the f***-you violence of American cities. But then they had Spress Yourself as well - happy as sunshine reggae.

Tone Loc got slagged off a lot for Funky Cold Medina - unshaven Irish students loved to jerk their pasty limbs to its hip beat, man - but Loc'ed After Dark is a great album. Favourite track was Cheeba Cheeba, about two guys getting stoned and going through the munchies. Goes on for 7 sleazy minutes. The only stuff that makes me laugh as much are Shane Magowan's Drinkin-Fightin-Fcukin songs.

I like it.

And thanks for providing the explanation.

Shitloads of Rage Against the Machine at the moment. Mainly because a lot was on when I went out last night.

I defy anyone to avoid having at least some draw towards songs like Killing In the Name Of and Bullet In the Head.

They can be a bit pretentious, but do have some very good tracks.

don't care too much for all the political razzmatazz but do enjoy the style and beat of certain songs by RATM

currently - The Killers - All These Things That I've Done

In the mood for spiritual awe?

The first and second movements of Gorecki's Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, sung by Dawn Upshaw. Always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. If you enjoy what music can do, you have to check it out at least once.
