He is French but going off his skin he looks like he is from French Polynesia. Can someone confirm his background, please....

He scored a nice try vs Saracens on the weekend. I was really impressed. Gonzalo Canale has some real competition for the Clermont 12 shirt.

Looks to be a great talent. Could well end up forming 12-13 French midfield with Yann David who is indeed from the French Islands, I believe. A future French centre perhaps. Bastareaud may be long forgotten. Mermoz impresses me too btw.

Fofana is from Paris where he was born. He played for the Paris Université Club one of the historical club of the city. He left this club in 2008 when he signed to ASM. He's also a good at seven.

Otherwise Fofana sounds more African than Polynesian to me. There are many French people of west African descent who have this family name.

Yann David's mother is from Wallis, a small island in the Pacific.

Ps: the inside out of Schalk Brits for the Saracens try is quite magnificent. You wont find many centers able to do that anymore....

Yeah this Fofana does look good and yes Lavea has put on the beef (I think its a sign of Lavea getting too laidback with his new club).
