Looking forward to the game this weekend, so I am hoping that we don't have another performance like the Bath game! Wasps were proud of the blitz defence and I haven't see it for quite a few games.. All I want is for the yellow and golds to get back to winning form!

Chris

Do they really call them the Yellow and Golds? You can hardly tell them apart on a jersy.

Anyway, come on you Bluuuuuuues.

Being a Newport lad I can't stand the Blues, but in the interest of being Welsh it would be nice to see Cardiff win and then go on to win the cup and get the Scarlets into the Heineken next season so all the Welsh teams are playing in Europe.

Surely they should be the black and golds or black and yellows? Does their kit even have any gold on?

Either way, i'll be cheering on the Blues this weekend

Sorry, I did mean Black and Yellow! But I thought the game on Saturday was a very difficult one to follow at twickenham as they both looked the same from a distance.. I thought that wouldn't be allowed having a kit so close in colour..

Anyway, I think we missed a trick with that kit, it should have been a one off jersey that people would flock and buy, not our away kit with a red cross...! Anyway, thats that and come on Wasps Wasps Wasps! :)

And why is that? Im all up for a bit of rivalry but why such beef with the Blues?

If the blues can continue the form they have been showing recently I am confident of a small win. However, semi-finals are a totally different prospect to the league so who knows.

As for Connacht, its a very difficult place to go and win as everyone in the magners has been finding this season. I can't see Toulon slipping up though, not with the the form that they are in.

Because it's fun not to like them lol.
It's been drilled into me from a young age not to like Cardiff and I stick by it lol.
It's nothing malicious...
Just fun more than anything. Its like Being Welsh & not liking the English.... When it comes to sport and we play each other anyway lol.

Jonny will be very woried, probably most intimidating atmosphere meeting him tonight :D Connacht at Sportsground would even beat All Blacks on their day :p

Now now munstermuffin, isn't it a little bit early to be drinking Guinness? Id love to see Connacht win, but I think the final would be more exciting with Toulon Vs Wasps/Cardiff

As for Zekulu, fair enough! I have a bit of that with neath (and now the Ospreys) thanks to my dad. I try to stay as impartial as I can though, damn Welsh ideologies.

Ah damn Connacht lost :( well now my team for Amlin is The Blues because well Cardiff is Munster's 2nd home so we support our own :D

Remember the 08 HEC Cup Final in the Millennium Stadium was like going to Thormound Park ... the stadium was packed with Munster fans and very few Toulouse fans.

And that why Cardiff our 2nd home we love the place and nightlife and craic ..... Brilliant - Poor Guiness though :)

Ahh I was at that final with a load of blues supporters. Probably the only game thats ever came close to beating the noise of the Welsh 05 grand slam, it was fantastic to see. Naturally we were all supporting Munster, Celts stand together and all that.

Oh and a quick point before I leave for the game. Martyn Williams may be out muscled today. Hes not been playing well at all of late and looks off the pace. I hope he proves me wrong or it could be a long evening. On form you'd say the Blues but Wasps have alot to play for (players leaving etc), which even with last weeks defeat worries me.

Allez Les Bleus, and heres to a good game!

9-8 to Wasps at half time. Attrociois conditions. Blues playing the rugby, but Blair has missed a few kicks at goal which is unlike him.

If the Blues can sort out their kicking game a bit, then they appear a little strong for Wasps imo. Their pick and go game has been very good in the first half. Hafpenny finished his chance off very well.

Edit: Wasps slot a penalty after a penalty in the scrum. Looked to me that Vickery was binding on the arm though. I'm by no means an expert though!

Further edit: Shaw sin binned. Halfpenny misses the penalty from the wrong side of the halfway line. 12-11 to Wasps.

Update: Gethin Jenkins get's the try. 12-18 to the Blues now.

Ok, that's fc**ing rediculous from the ref. Molatika knocks on, Bradley Dvaies tries not to touch it, but it bunces into his leg and ref awars a penalty! It was accidental ffs!!!! 15-18 now.

The Blues get yellow carded now! Scrum under pressure. Although I'm not convinced the ref knows whats going on. The penalty before the yellow card one looked like it was Vickery who went down, yet penalty went against Gethin Jenkins! Andrews then got yellow carded for popping up when the Wasps were driving forward, the scrum had already covered a good 10m though, which I thought was the maximum a scrum was allowed to cover?

Arggggg, stupid bloody ref! First the ball is chucked out the ruck by a wasps player when it was Blues ball. Then a Wasps player just pushes a Blues player to get to the ball. Ref misses both and awars a panalty to the Wasps! Getting quite annoyed at this. The Blues are under pressure, but the ref seems to only see Blues infringments at the moment.

Good win for the Blues. Deserved to win imo, as the only tactic Wasps seemed to have was to put the ball into the air and hope for a mistake. The Blues tried to play some rugby, and in the end get the win by scoring two tries to nil.

Just wanted to mention Rhys Thomas quickly. He was battling for the Welsh no. 2 jersey a couple of seasons ago, but has had a couple of ordinary years where Gareth Williams has been getting the nod for the Blues. However, in the last few games I've been very impressed with him again. He seems to have taken the callenge layed down by Gareth Williams, and responded very well. Is he now back in contention for Wales after a few very good performances? His throwing has been accurate, and he's always been good around the field. That pass for Lee Halfpenny's try in this game was excellent from a Hooker.

There are now quite a few battling it out for positions on the Summer tour, including Mat Rees, Ken Owens, Huw Bennett (always going to be in contention with Gatland!), Gareth Williams and now Rhys Thomas.

Thoughts?

Lineout throwing is not the best but his work round the park is pretty good. I dunno whether he is in contention, maybe his Welsh career has passed but you never know.
