Is this a joke?Am I watching the same tackle?
No drop from Welsh 9?
No bend at the waist from the Argentinian player?
A red card when it should be play on for a "rugby incident"
Not at all, he just went through the framework and answered all the questions wrong - i genuinely question whether he had the replay up or was just going from memory, because he was watching him bend to make the tackle and saying "No bend at the waist"Ohhh, you're one of those "rugby has gone soft" guys.
Mate, it was head on head so he clearly wasn't bending very much. He came sprinting at him, there was minimal dip from either players and smashed into his face.Penalty only for getting tipped onto your head hahahaha

Because the Welsh 9 dropped as well - 2 x mitigation,Mate, it was head on head so he clearly wasn't bending very much.
Nah. Not for me (or anyone with eyes) nowhere near enough dip from either player especially when you consider how much line of sight he had to control the hit. At the end of the day you've got to go much much lower than that. End of.Because the Welsh 9 dropped as well - 2 x mitigation,
It was a yellow, tops, under the current framework
I don't think we could've had too many complaints with a yellow but the last angle showed initial impact on the ground was shoulder first then head. As I say, though, got away with one a bit perhaps.Does anyone know where in the rules or ref guidance, exactly, is there mitigation for "being close to the ground"?
Matera was lifted, legs went above horizontal and he landed on his head. How is that not a card?
Tip tackles need a clear framework like high tackles and where the player lands should be taken out of it. Intention should be the only thing that matters as you can have identical tip tackles, one player puts his hands down to protect himself and the guy gets a penalty or yellow, one player doesn't, lands on his head and it's a red. Yet both tackles were the same.Does anyone know where in the rules or ref guidance, exactly, is there mitigation for "being close to the ground"?

How can you say minimal dip? He's effectively sitting down. If if stood up it would be a great tackleMate, it was head on head so he clearly wasn't bending very much. He came sprinting at him, there was minimal dip from either players and smashed into his face.
Funny how we all see things differently though.
Nah, they're both stood straight up right - anyone with eyes could see that (apparently)! How can you say minimal dip? He's effectively sitting down. If if stood up it would be a great tackle

Double yellow showed that - lost control of the packs so binned them rather than try and referee it properlyUnfortunately Carley is not one of the better refs in England and often seems to make it up as he goes.
Effectively sitting down? Ok then. How can you say minimal dip? He's effectively sitting down. If if stood up it would be a great tackle
You said it was play on. LolYeah, tip tackles could do with a framework
According to the laws landing on your head or upper body is an illegal tip tackle and is a ban, so landing on the top of your shoulder/neck definitely should be a card (if it's worth a ban)
