Wales v South Africa

I wouldn't **** with Mike Phillips..... He was a very good boxer by all accounts before taking up rugby full time. I'd back him against alot of players, including most forwards. I agree that the Welsh pack lacks a bit of ****le, however I don't think that's an altogether bad thing. Bradley Davies has shown how to be aggressive whilst being an honest, non-thuggish player. Ian Evans and Josh Turnbull are two that aren't involved in this current Welsh squad who do have a little ****le about them though, and both could be involved in the 6 nations / WC squads.

I think North could surprise many South Africans here. He's certainly a big lad, but he's also got alot of pace and more importantly the confidence to back himself against anyone.

for a wing North is huge.. up here his nickname when he played for rhyl youth was "the welsh lomu"(as did Gatland) iirc someone said earlier when talking about him.. I can see him getting involved in this game and hopefully getting a foot in the team for the 6N and WC squads.

If the welsh pack play like last week, then i think there should be a cracking game in store for us all :D With hook now in the centre the ball should now go out to the wings - looking forward to seeing North play (hear loads about him but haven't seen him play yet - can't believe he's a year younger than me, guys his size make me glad i finished rugby and changed to music :D). Cant wait for 2.30 2morro :D :D gonna be a cracker hopefully :D

Wales' hopes of beating South Africa on Saturday were hit by the last-minute injury withdrawals of prop Gethin Jenkins and flanker Dan Lydiate.

Paul James is promoted from the bench to take over at loose-head, as is Andy Powell to fill the number six shirt.

Cardiff Blues pair John Yapp and Deiniol Jones fill the bench places.

Scarlets' highly-rated teenage wing George North will win his first Wales cap against the world champion Springboks at the Millennium Stadium.

Heard a rumour about Gethin earlier, but couldn't see anything online so thought it was just a rumour :(

Had a call this morning, was not allowed to post anything until the media said.

And we're underway lads!!! Good luck to my Welsh friends!!!

Can anyone explain that red flower everybody has these days? TV presentors, players have it on their sleeve...

North with a try on his debut

Man, why are Spies and Habana in the starting 15???

And another try. Man o man what a bad start

What a bunch of tossers. Spies is playing horrible, Habana won't do anything worth mentioning today, I just know it. That when Kankowski and Mvovo aren't even on the bench

Frans Steyn would have scored that penalty with 20 metres to spare ;)

This is not even close to the SA I was expecting. What a big, big, big disappointment.

SA is not playing the way they should. Shanklin with a nasty headwound now

17-9 at halftime. This is over. Congrats to you Cymro's

Haha Bob Skinstad is beelin on the telly

Served him right for being such a cocky, arrogant twat over the quality NH teams

Skinstad GTF, its nae a Grand Slam tour until the games are won

Alberts on now!!!!

All we need now is for Habana to be replaced (Steyn fullback, Aplon on the wing, Lambie outside center and we are much better)

WILLEM ALBERTS WITH A DEBUT TRY!!! hahaha. This is amazing (sorry for the caps but I just had to)

What a second half start, man o man. Matfield now with a try. Nice dummy pass by the Line-out king

And another try by Georgie the Cardiff Boy ;)

Just going to point out that Walsh has destroyed this game.

Alberts try came from a penalty that should never have been because Bradley Davies did not pull a maul down ... joke!

Matfield try, Habana tackled the man in the air, he also stripped the ball on the floor

@ Cymro, it was Basson tackling in the air ;) but apart from that, good eyes. I just rewinded it. You're right

Without those 2 bad decisions from the ref Wales would still be ahead.. oh and Ezequiel George north is from chester iirc.. then played in north wales and now iswith scarlets not cardiff :p

Well, if we look at it that way, Wales got some easy penalties in the first half
