Wales v England - 05/08/23 5:30 KO

i think it'll be a good game. Im looking for England to be drilled, pacy, physical and working on efficiency...

Wont please the romantics at all but the type of game that will go well at the world cup with such limited time.

So Dan is a really good prospect and we learn nothing by playing George. So throw him in at the deep end, if he is coming to the WC in a weaker position like hooker then he needs gametime. For set piece if nothing else.

Big Pearson fan but he should be on the bench to add an impact but leaving our starters to build get gametime together.

Martin i would start for experience as i think it isnt a position of real depth especially with Chessum(also quite inexperienced) in there when fit.

Genge Dan Sinks
Itoje Martin
TCurry TWillis JWillis

JVP Faz(he will start no matter what)
Lawrence Slade or Tuilagi Slade or Tuilagi Lawrence (i just wonder that last one will get caught out defensivly being 2 big blokes.)
Murley Steward Watson

I still see Arundell as an attacking FB rather than a winger tbh thats where all the highlight reel moments happened that got him in the team in the first place.
I agree with most of this, although I'd probably start Ford.

Farrell being the captain doesn't mean he has to start the warm up games and I think it's important to get Ford re-integrated.

I'm a massive fan of Murley but if he doesn't fit the game plan, it makes more sense for Cokanasiga to get a run out.

I don't think you are asking too much. 'Working on' were the key words for me.

Overall I read it as a realistic expectation for a team that's been training together for weeks now. Being well drilled and physical should be the basic standard and for 'pacy', I think you're really referring to the team looking to operate with a bit of urgency.

By 'physical' - are we talking about players being committed and aggressive, which as you say is a minimum standard. Or are we talking a more Bok style bullying game plan? There's a bit of a distinction and I'm not sure we really have the players for the latter.

Ford Watson Manu Lawrence BigJoe Steward i worry about defensivly. Ford often Needs a second man to assist the tackle, Manu has a habbit of shooting up and getting caught out leaving lawrence (who is a decent defender) vunerable. Then with big joe who like manu can be wrong footed by a faster player there could be some holes.

I forget its not EJ..maybe Ford will start.

What is our strongest centre parnership? And where does Slade stand? I like the balance of Ford Lawrence Slade with the same back 3 as above and 12 and 13 interchangeable i think it offers alot with a crash ball 13(who is actually quick too) with double playmaker or crash ball 12 with a playmaker at 13 to distribute to out back 3.

As on another thread The Times writers banged on about how in the Rugby Championship more kicks are coming off midfield than 9. As it's harder to set up against. So Slade might have a chance.

Not bullying...but Dynamic /Powerful. Hitting the breakdown quick and with intention...then moving the ball away quickly....

Backs hitting the ball AT PACE hitting the right angles...etc

No more sludgery...pondering about the pitch.

Blimey, first paragraph alone would involve learning two new skillsets!

That sound brilliant then i remember we have Ben Youngs in the squad.

I mean a back row with TCurry TWillis JWillis would definatly have some dynamic players and they all are good carries. Cant account for the gameplan/Ben Youngs but we do have the players.

Playing fast and loose with their definition of "uncapped" for Henry Thomas,
Wonder if Rowlands has been teaching him and Plumtree the anthem

A few players I'm not aware of, but that's a decent second row.

Judging by Wigglesworths BBC interview it'll be a strong England side...and it wont be a trial for the fringe players.
