Wales Six Nations Squad 2025

Welcome to... What? 2008?
Same story as every 6N and every AI since then
RFU pay (currently) £37M per year for access to the players for training weeks.
If the SRU/WRU/FIR want to pay the same (or, presumably, 1/6 of that for 1/6 as many players) then they're more than welcome to.

Quite how any NH rugby fan is still unaware of this is beyond me.

Its strange how the England players werent playing for their clubs this weekend, but Wales players were playing for English clubs, and its Wales that have got the first game of the 6 nations.
Scottish players played this weekend as well, for example Russell played for Bath.

Might that be a great driver for RFU losses?

ETA: Sorry, this discurshould be either a thread of its own, or in the England squad thread, not here.

What do you want, the WRU to pay the English clubs for release?

Welsh boys know what they're signing up for, they know when the English boys are released they'll play, similar to welsh lads going to France know they'll be thrashed week in week out.

To get back on track...

Are we all ready for the 'Miracle in Paris' Friday night?
Is that that ghostly figure running across the paris rooftops at the Olympics, cunningly disguised as Dan "the whinger" Biggar shouting "I knew you couldn't win without me" or AWJ shouting "here come the zulus, stop throwing those spears at me"

Where does your £37.5m come from? according to RFU report 2023/24 they spent only £28.7m on all players fees and contracts for 15s and 7s, male and female, pathway & VIK. Surely that payment to the club's should be within that figure. Btw the clubs only got £24.8m from the RFU, a reduction of £6.2m from the previous year, so it's not in there either (page 32) financial report.
