U20 6 Nations 2025

And they went 9 years before that without challenging....

Let's be honest, Ireland had a really good generation who went unbeaten 22/23 and went close 24, outside of that they've been pretty average.

I get there's a huge amount of money in Ireland currently, a lot of governing bodies utilising the Dublin tax breaks, and European rugby being Dublin centric, but Ireland u20s history isn't typically challenging for GS every year...

Irelands age grade has benefited hugely from the financial incentives, and fair play to them, but England are the continuous powerhouse, the idea England needed Ireland to return to the usual to win is laughable

Grand slam 2019, triple crown 2020 before the last two rounds of the tournament were cancelled. Top Dublin schools regularly beating the top English ones and doing well in world school festivals. This year hasn't been Ireland going back to normal, it's a bad year (with a rake of key injuries compounding it).

Losing to France or England won't ever be unusual, but 1 from 5 is clearly not normal.

England may be much bigger but basic things like supporting in the rucks are abysmal. One of those there that could/should have been given to wales England's 12 was the only one there to clear the welsh guy out and he just stood watching. Disgraceful. At least with Joe Davies on the ruck service has improved

The point is, England are strong every year, they don't need to benefit from Ireland being their usual average after a few years of being good...

Return to normality, Wales and Ireland having a few peaks and troughs

This is a very astute observation, England seem to assume they win the rucks and they're not all at the races

I get the feeling this England team think they're a touch better than they are. Just feels like a complacent showing
Pack has been taken out of the game all of a sudden...

They outmuscle the welsh team, but there's no guile, the English backs need to get involved, give the defence something else to look at

That's certainly been the case today.

I think they came out firing, felt that they were well on top (valid), had a few try scoring oppordenied by luck, but the feeling seemed to be that more scores were inevitable.
Score was level, or 1 score up, but we were playing like we'd secured the TBP, and we're 3 scores up.

It's a tough mindset thing when you feel well on top, you're playing well, but you look at the scoreboard and it's just not reflected.
Unforgivable for that to continue after HT though.
