Wonder if Pollock has any Scottish Ancestry. No way SB is picking a 7 who runs the ball like that ! His job is to tackle and jackel 🙄😂

We just gonna pretend he hasn't selected Ben Earl for like 10 tests in a row?
Agree to a point, although Pollock is an out and out 7. Earl plays 8 and does a lot of carrying into traffic.
SB type of 7 in his own words is a Reffell or Willis. Makes lots of tackles and abrasive

Wales getting their first win in 2 years finally...

The junior system has taken a battering in Wales, especially with finding and controversies, but hopefully with the regions promoting younger players to senior experience they should pick up a bit

I don't think I've ever been as hyped about a player as Morgan Morse! He wasn't amazing yesterday, but he still had some standout moments.

Thought the replacement Wales 10 was the difference between the sides. Came on and threw a perfect long try scoring pass with his first touch, then converted from out wide to put Wales ahead. His passing kept putting Wales into space and this resulted in Wales pulling away at the end.

There's a handfull of very promising players there, which is ultimately what the U20's is about.

Ah, I think that's harsh: Willis is a good carrier, as is Curry (and as above: Earl)

There's so many sticks to beat Borthwick with, don't need to invent others
I guess time will tell. I just don't see SB picking back rows whose skill base is primarily running, link play and passing
I accept what you say re Earl, although he very underrated in the tight.
This lad stands off like an old fashioned 7.

Alex Mann was monstrous at the U20's also... he struggled to push through at Cardiff until the exodus gave him a chance.

Similar to Morse. Hopefully Morse and Martin both fulfill their huge potential, the number 8 position could be in good hands

Found some stats for Pollock in the Italy game:

Joint top for carries overall with 13
Joint second in tackles with 10
Joint second in turnovers with 2

lots of tackling and jackling and being involved with the tight. His third try was from a maul.

Pollock looks very promising I think him and Carnduff at 6 work extremely well together.
Thing is no point mentioning Borthwick back row plan, when Pollock has played what 1 game of U20's if he starts regularly for Saints then it can be a discussion.

I really despise this habit of putting an asterisk by all the players who are already capped. Surely just put one by the debutants?

Rotation in the front row or injuries do you know?

Sparrow went off injured so thats why there.
Smyth was a surprise absence last weekend, could have been absent due to injury, so him starting isnt a huge surprise.

I thought the same. Not really sure who he is but apparently a Stroud boy who's been through the England age grade system U16/U18 etc
