One of the problems with Twickenham is the travel plan. As a local resident it is something I am very familiar with.
With less parking at the stadium these days, there is more reliance on the (sometimes creaking) public transport network.

A lot has been made of the various shuttle buses (to Hounslow Piccadilly line / Waterloo and Central London / Kempton Park â€" Park and Ride).

Anyone with any first hand experiences they would like to share?

I was going to give the following advice, but then realised it's useless as you're a local resident. I'll leave it here for the benefit of others, however:

In terms of trains - A lesser known secret is that instead of getting on or off at Twickenham you can try and avoid the crowds by going to Isleworth station .
It's a longer walk from the station, but much nicer along the canal and almost free of crowds. Returning afterwards, you won't have the issue of not being able to fit on a train.

Thanks Henry. Good advice.
I would recommend that supporters walked to Whitton or Hounslow (not the underground) Stations. They are both probably about 5 minutes further to walk than Twickenham, and you won't have quite so many trains to choose from – but from what I hear the (post match) crowds at Twickenham are truly horrendous.

Another problem appears to be that because the Fanzone is situated in Richmond (Old Deer Park) there is now even more pressure on the usual tube network in that area. So supporters who are used to getting the shuttle to Richmond for Six Nations Matches etc are now finding themselves at the station, but they are at the back of large queues that have "exited" the Fanzone.

If you get the trains going away from London and then get off at the next station and get on the one going to London, you can sit on the train arriving at twickers and have a laugh at those in the queue.

It always worked for me and can tell you now as will never go to twickers again!!!
