Hello. We're a small indie dev team making a new rugby RPG called Tryhard. And we'd like your feedback and/or support!
We're pursuing a very different game design approach from Rugby 25 / Rugby 08 / Lomu etc. Our game is more like a strategic board game, or a tactics game like XCOM / Fire Emblem if you're familiar. It's turn based and it's all about tactical choices / managing an amateur rugby club to the city championships. No big brand licenses here.
We're also not quite going for a hardcore rugbyhead audience (I'm sure you can understand why)... but we do want a lot of rugby simulation depth and even rugby history -- just presented in an approachable way for a more general sports / RPG gamer audience, who might be new to rugby. Think of it as the game you show your reluctant friend / family? (but I think even experienced rugby fans will find a lot to like here too)
for more info / gameplay video / "wishlist on Steam" etc --
In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions, comments, hopes and dreams, etc. I'll try to check this thread regularly. Thanks.
(PS: sorry if I'm breaking any forum rules by posting about my own game, just trying to open a direct line of communication to the rugby fans here)
