been to a couple of events with Roberts over the last couple of weeks (very nice man), and he's been talking about this quite a bit.

He's also allowed play for Cambridge in the Varsity post world cup as well as it will be in his rest period.

Cambridge might just stand a chance then!!

I'm happy with this. I hope it also means we're offloading JTH, but you never know. Allen and Marchant are he future but they're a way off being useful and if we get some decent game time out of Roberts he will be a big, big boost.

Peter Stringer --> Sale Sharks (1yr deal)

Very happy with that!
Also great news for James Mitchell - already looking very promising, and then having Cusiter and Stringer, with their 400,000 international caps between them, to learn off is going to help bring him along massively.

Also confirmation of Alberto Di Marchi leaving (rumours are back to Treviso).

Tom Casson, Quins ----> Yorkshire.

Sad to see him go. Less injury prone and he'd be a real star. I hope this doesn't mean we're keeping JTH.

Met him at the Champions Cup Final, my mate had the cheek to ask him if he was off to Quins. He just smiled and said "no comment"! Met him after the game as well and was more than happy to take photos with everyone, must have been 50 odd guys there watching him and the BT sport crew. Lovely lad.

I know that Diamond did say that a few months ago, but more recently he's said the areas he's looking to recruit are 9, lock and tighthead.
Depends whether they trust the academy players to be promoted yet - Arscott/Addison/Haley is a good back 3, but Arscott and Addison have their fair share of injuries.

Maybe he's waiting to see whether Bristol get promoted and if he can swoop in for Tom Varndell? Then we'd have 1st 2nd and 3rd top try scorers as Sale men :lol:

If Treviso are recruiting (what must assumed to be a player on reasonable, if not exactly stellar, wages), does that have connotations for the Italians in/out as regards the Pro12 I wonder...?

Was an article on ESPN a week or two back in which some Italian spokesperson was talking about putting forwards some sort of compromise on the debts and being fairly adamant that the Italian teams were staying in the Pro 12.
