Top 14 Day 22

After a hectic week, press training, sending the boss to Blighty (wife) running the household, the cat etc etc, i find 2 minutes of peace to let Gaston do his TOP 14 predictions..............
All home wins which will make No.74 for Clermont except a certain Oyonnax v Montypellier, which will result in a win for the visitors ,but it is also my joker just in case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if the boys are successful this weekend i think it could well be curtains for Oyonnax and Pro D2 next season..

Hopefully it should be good enough and no Rene Ranger, excellent bench will need it up front and could be the positive point with 25 mins to go in the game, but it will not be easy only Stade Franchoulliarde have won at Oyonnax this season.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things starting to change at BO, ......................Marc and Tomas Lievremont, as they are both ex players the decision could be the best that Sergio has made in a long time.

Would be a typical Blanco decision and not an unexpected one.....go to your ex Biarritz mates! With Rodrigues, Cousinet, Bidabe and Brusque (to name some recent ones) we already have enough of those and none of them have shown and great aptitude for their work!

I am sorry but do not think that that is what we need as it clearly shows Blanco is going to retain overall control (and continue to employ his mates) rather than ceding to a new Chief Executive, with the power to go outside of the club for the proper independent talent, being the only way BO can find salvation.

Looks to me like they threw names into a hat to come up with this team......a centre at wing forward and a wing in the centre!! None of the big three playing and only Yach on the bench......Oh for that to be a sign of the future rather than probably injuries but with BO, who knows!!!!

1- Thomas SYNAEGHEL
2- Arnaud HEGUY 3- Ben BROSTER 4- Erik LUND 5- Thibault DUBARRY 6- Tanguy MOLCARD 7- Seremaia BUROTU8- Ueleni FONO
9- Yann LESGOURGUES 10- Julien PEYRELONGUE (c.)
11- Teddy THOMAS 12- Charles GIMENEZ 13- Aled BREW 14- Takudzwa NGWENYA
15- Johan PIETERSEN

16- Johann LOURDELET
17- Francisco GOMEZ-KODELA 18- Joshua FURNO 19- Eric DOS SANTOS 20- Dimitri YACHVILI 21- Paul COUET-LANNES 22- Benoît GUYOT 23- Eugène VAN STADEN

ahhh, finally I may get to see a bit of Pélissié...fine team MP, don't know a few of those starting players though...anyways. Oyonnax to reign supreme at home yet again against a Top14 powerhouse.

What color is Cupcake ? How old is she ?

Both Marc and Tomas Lievremont deny any approaches to BO next season, and this was live on Canal+'s Specialists de Rugby at 20.00 tonight, we will see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah lol read about that a bit...goooooood luck Lievremont brothers...

holy shhit, 16 all in Clermont with 20 to play !!!...aie aie aie...

Well that was some match, Toulon came to win!!!!! threw the ball around all over the park!!!!!!! and gave Clermont lots of problems, Clermont had 2 yellows Cudmore and Lee, both for repeated faults nothing nasty. The Clermont defence is just superb and even with 14 on the park for 20 mins they still try to score, they did however make loads of mistakes, but what the hell Toulon become No.74. and go top by 3 pts. the incredible thing was after the first yellow Cudmore, LEE into 2nd row Nalaga, flanker but it was so automatic no discussuions it just happened as though that's where they started playing and the same when LEE got his yellow, Bonnaire to 8 and Nalaga Flanker, whoever beats Clermont at home one day it will be deserved this is an incredible record.
Oh if Tigs Man is reading this keep puffing on that wackey baccy as Leicester can bring all the Tigers in the world they will not beat Clermont at Marcel Michelin, have a look in the New Oxford Dictionary, under Fortress it now reads Marcel Michelin , Clermont Montferrand, TOP 14 Stadium
Oupps forgot, Clermont 22 Toulon 16 one try apiece.
Delon Armitage is still the Clermont supporters favourite person, he may one day regret his stupidity in last years H Cup final.

Sorry to have unavoidably missed the match....it sounded just like the best advertisement for the best league in the world despite what Saracens are trying to do to rugby with their razzmatazz showboating and an estimated 80,000 people being given virtually free admission (tickets from £2.50 yes £2.50) to Wembley today!!

Nobody wins in the volcano <_<

Ahhh, fier l'Auvergnat heiiin !!
nope....not for 4 years at least !
"We can't lose at home" aka Clermont still have to host Castres and Perpignan in the Top 14 regular season. And between the two they've got the Leicester Tigers. They'll make it three more in a row and 76 overall, but the toughest would be the Tigers obviously, given the context and how little Clermont know them compared to Top 14 opposition...

...........apart from ASM of course!!!

:p unexpected, good one !

I must say I really wasn't sure Clermont would win that one last night. I tuned in at the 60th, and boy...things sure didn't look good. Apparently Toulon were the better team overall and Rougerie said "it's a miracle we won considering all the mistakes we made".

Will watch it later today...make way for the two "Stade" matchup now !!

I'm watching the game: "Stade Francais v Toulouse" with commentary in French on CANAL+, I understand nothing of what they say

:p

Toulon played as they didn't play since last year, there best match from very far. ASM was barely average and Parra didn't had a good foot game unlike James fortunately. But Toulon made also many en-avants and forward passes, and had problems with their line-out. Curiously Toulon's try woke up the guys and the end of the game was ours.
