definitely playing with a wet soap in the first half, things looked a whole lot better in the second...well, for Toulouse that is. They were so clinical around the 4th quarter you'd forget they had a red card.
Some very good signs going forward into this season after last week's survival contest:
they finally showed up in the rucks. They played tremendous defense where even when Castres were putting quickness, fluidity and direction changing into their otherwise very dire attacking, they'd get stopped eventually. No way through.
Some really cool movements from Toulouse, Huget and Fickou are "en jambes", are happy feet to start this season. Fickou showing good strength also, not just stepping.
Flood had an off game, and yes the rain hurt him but pretty off, had that one very nice no-look change-direction pass towards the end, good accuracy there.
Nice to see Médard with happy feet too.
And that lineout looks just brilliant with Harinordoquy and Nyanga. Imanol in particular manages to get sooo high.
It wasn't a masterclass display by ST but a lot of good elements moving forward.
For the C.O., looking miserable right now but I'm sure they will pick up the pieces. Look nothing like the team that beat Toulon in one final and stood tall to them in another.
Attacking must be reviewed, there's no reason they should be this flat with that backline, and both Tales and Lamerat had fine moments and looked good in one-on-one situations.
Castres will need to do smt about that scrum and the missing first choices there...having trouble against Toulouse ain't a good sign.
