Top 14 Day 2

I'd put my money on a Clermont fightback though. The bench will surely make a difference.
 
Agreed Ze but they need to start showing some solidarity rather than individuality.

The bench will be much better for ASM, no doubt, but 20 points is 20 points is 20 points...........fastest first half of rugby for me this season......
 
That is what will cost them the game...possibly!.......no Parra and have t rely on James to kick under the pressure of being far behind!

Game over and only Clermont and Cotter can be blamed......this is not good news for Biarritz (although ecstatic for Oyonnax) as the commentators on BT Sport have said, they are playing against BO for the relegation spot! This must be the first time a British commentator has spoken about BO in these terms ever despite their problems being many years in the making and not just suddenly arrived.

Anyway, back to the game.....is that another try....my feed has gone off!!
 
Well done Oyonnax.....thoroughly deserved!! Now off to watch Biarritz tonk some team from the Med......................

Was the commentator Martin Gillingham? He genuinely knows quite a bit about French rugby for a Brit and is a good commentator.

Biarritz seem to be getting weaker every year although they are still ranked disproportionately high by the ERC unfortunately. It makes me laugh when some commentators refer to former top teams Biarritz, Perpignan and Stade Français as "galacticos" and money rich teams even though all three have notably weakened squads these days and all have had financial issues. Biarritz in particular look like they're headed downhill and their signings these past two seasons have been very cheap and pretty low quality and a different planet to Toulon. A shame that they didn't manage to get their hands on the Heineken Cup when they had the chance in their peak years in 2006.
 
Pretty amazing victory by Oyonnax, it must be said. This isn't just a fine effort, this is pretty damn epic, and hopefully a testament for things to come. Look out Top 14 !
Clermont played hard, and well at times - Oyonnax just met them at almost each corner.
 
Excellent effort by OYONNAX, they played with spirit and deserved their victory but no one saw it coming teams will be going to the French silicone valley with fear in their stomachs. Bravo Oyonnax

Yes it was Martiin who is very good and knowledgeable but even when he was with ESPN he was bullsh****ing about BO!!

Until they get rid of Serge Blanco.....they are going nowhere!! He is far too loyal to his staff and players for too long and is too steeped in the history of the club which gave him everything and that is quite a lot!!

A professional manager with cold hard determination is needed to overhaul the playing squad and the rest of the menagement never mind seek out new sponsors.

HaHaHaHa.............I left the ground laughing my head off, I laughed the whole way home and then got home to find this message posted before the game....HaHaHa............

Christmas has come early to the Basque country....first ASM donate a bonus point when they should have walked all over us and then MHR come and forget their brains or something and let us take the winning points!!

We were annhilated in the scrum, obliterated in the maul, smashed in the line out, Yachvilli (kicking aside) had easily his worst performance for many a long year and Traille still thinks he is playing in a really competent team where he can showcase his ego YET we still effing won!!!!!

I have absolutely no understandng of the way did but we were constantly given confidence by the MHR mistakes and the ball by virtue of turnovers and mistakes. But thank you soooo much!!!!

With Lewis Hamilton getting pole in Belgium it only leaves the Argies to thrash the Boks to really make this an absolutely smashing day!!!

I would say that Erik Lund, Lakafia and Furno were absolutely outstanding, the whole team never let their heads drop despite the drubbing they were getting, if not on the scoreboard, or when Dubarry left the field (followed shortly by an ambulance leaving for hospital which we believe was for him). Goia had a great game on the wing, there was some good running from Thomas and there was plenty of cover to support their tackling. This was an element that was missing last week in that there was always support.....

It amazes me that players in the Top 14 do not take blankets on the field for the time that they spend on the floor at the breakdown without penalty, they seem to get enormous time to rest!! This is a general problem this season and it is time the refs took a stand and stopped the flopping and not rolling away. Incidentally, Gaston, during the week perhaps you could teach MHR players about staying on side at the breakdown scrum and line out.............oh and finishing matches off?!! The TV picture of Ledesma toward the end was what got me started laughing...........................and it really is time I stopped.

Stade Francais next week in Paris and they had a good win, against the odds, at USAP this afternoon so it will not be an easy one and that is then followed by Toulon down here.................with spirit and enthusiasm like today, a new captain to take sensible rather than selfish decisions, supporting runners and back up and a bit more discipline and organisation we may get some points that will be vital come May!

crossed the line4 times 0 tries Yach on his arse stealing the ball on his own line yellow card!!!! Tchale- Watchou given a yellow for a punch when he was 5 mts from the action + he is black not difficult to spot!!! high tackles!!!! constant offside !!!!!!plus a ref who is obviously from Biarritz, loosing i can handle but being cheated out of victory find it hard to swallow. We may be bottom my friend but have a good laugh at our expense but we will see who is still laughing in a few months time.You may not know but the first try scored last season was by Castres this year it was Montpellier and CASTRES finished champions i rest my case. Keep laughing you will need the good humour as the results will not last very long from what i have seen Bo could be contenders for the Pro D2
