The best drop goal you've ever seen

Nathan Cayless of the Parramatta Eels in the NRL. His drop goal was pretty neat. A prop forward with time almost over to draw and send the game into extra time!

Did they win eventually? Anyway, i reckon Frans Steyn has to have a nice 60m one somewhere....

Nope sorry... Francious Steyn. Against England last year he got one from the halfway mark on the sideline (+-60m). He also got a few more long rangers.

But would like to see one when his team is 2 points behind ;)

Regardless of all those great ones, i'd nominate Goncalvo Malheiro of Portugal in the RWC vs AB's. He had a long range drop attempt that failed early on, but AB's were only leading 7-0 and he attempts another and scores this time. I think it takes some character for a small rugby nation to miss against the AB's and even attempt another again.

Not the best drop goal at all, but the whole of Portugal would probably not agree!

Matt Dunning's 'drop' was not intended i am sure.. it has no technique at all.

It's already been said, but it has to be said again, Dunning's legendary attempt easily tops it.

Australian sporting icon? Most f***ing certainly!

Larkham's drop in semi final against south africa, when everyone knew how a pitiful dropgoal scorer he was, he sent his team to the final :D

Larkham in '99 and Wilko in 2003... love also some of Steyn's bombs... and Marcato's one this year in the 6 Nations! :p

Kurtley Beale's last weekend wasn't bad, albeit not from too far out.
He actually slipped over, got flattened by Bakkies Botha and skill managed to put it over.

Ronan O Gara scored his first ever drop goal in the last minute against Wales in 2004 to win. It was terrible, it rocked and swayed and zig zaged, seemed to take an age, but it made it.

The next day I went into school and I said to my mates "Wales will win the Grand Slam next year", I got laughed at.

Larkham's in the 99 semi and Timmins' in Origin are my two favourites. Neither of them were any good at kicking drop goals and they were absolutely massive kicks as well. Not Steyn massive, but still fairly long-range and ultra-important as well.

And the ad that came out of Larkham's, cheesy, but gotta love it:
