John Hayes' record is simply outstanding -
Ireland Caps - 105
Munster Caps - 212
Celtic/Magners League - 2003, 2009, 2011
Celtic Cup - 2005
Heineken Cup - 2006, 2008
Triple Crown - 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009
RBS 6 Nations Championship - 2009
Grand Slam - 2009
from the irish rugby website

Hayes began his career in Kilballyowen, as he said himself playing in the second row and back row, but progressed to the front line of the pack at club provincial and international level, earning every honour possible, RWC medal excepted, in a professional career that has spanned 14 years.

i know that on this forum we have given John "the bull" Hayes quite a bashing of late. but id would like to say thanks to the bull as he retires for his great service to Ireland and Munster. truly a rugby legend

Without him Ireland would have been royally screwed. It's remarkable that he stayed injury free for so long. It's worth remembering the imperious form he showed in the 2008/09 season leading to a deserved Lions call up. A Grand Slam, Triple Crowns, Celtic Cup, Celtic Leagues and Heineken Cup ***les is a magnificent haul of trophies for him to end up with.

He was a great servant to Munster and Ireland. I wish him every success in the future.

He probably should have retired after the Lions, however I don't think his form of late should over shadow the rest of his career which was great for Ireland/Munster

Good luck in whatever he does

Monstrosity of a human being .. wish him all the best with the farm where I wager he will be spending many happy years flinging around cattle :p

Truly a great servant he was an immense player in his day. Good luck to him.

Top player, the cornertone of that Irish and Munster pack for many years. OK, his form did go down slightly in the last few years but will be mentioned along the great props of Northern Hemisphere rugby if not Worldwide.

While we're at videos....
