Tahs vs Saders,

Now, now, H. - no need for name calling. Maybe you should cut back on your H. intake if it is getting you overexcited.
I take it you disagree with the proposition that there is a weight of administrative support for pro-Australian officiating? And, with my given reason for this state of affairs?
Of course Watson is not Australian, which is why he got to influence all those results involving Oz teams.
Wait until I get started on Peyper and what you SA lot expect from your referees.

Maybe you haven't been around forums regarding rugby, SANZAR and especially officiating.

Ask all the members here, and you will see there is no love from me or any other South African with regards to John O'neil, Australian officiating, and guys like Rohan Hoffman, Stuart Dickenson and George Ayoub.

But why bring Andre Watson into this equation?? He's in charge of the South African referees, he has nothing to do with Australian refs or their judicial system. Watson is also under investigation for the manner in which he is handling South African referees and there are reports of racial slurs by him towards certain referees, like Rasta Ratshivenge, who has now moved to Oz to qualify as a ref there and be out of Watson's jurisdiction.

Jaco Peyper, Stuart Berry and Marius van Der Westhuizen are all up and coming South African referees. I have expressed my dismay in some of their officiating blunders in the past, and they have always tried to correct their mistakes.

Perhaps you should browse around the forum first and look what has been said before jumping to conclusions.

You're conflating issues.

The Crusaders just don't have the same aura, nor are we producing the same results. Nobody is naive about our situation. And to be clear, even if we had won this match I HIGHLY doubt we would have genuinely won this competition. We had our opportunity to climb up the ladder against the Highlanders. That's not actually the point. Just because we're down on the table doesn't mean we stop caring about how matters get dealt with.

There's no butt hurt here. It's just funny reading over the last couple of weeks "McCaw cheats this", "McCaw cheats that" yet these kind of cheap shots and thuggery are something we regularly have to deal with on a yearly basis. There have been South African players banned for more weeks in a single instant than what Skelton did on 3 different occasions. The officiating and discipline handed out in this competition is getting beyond a joke, there is literally no rhyme or reason to it. "Kiwis might have a problem with it"? We should all have a problem with it. Many of us have called out other Kiwis when they do stupid stuff in matches too. See the Chiefs vs Sharks .. Chiefs vs Hurricanes.

And before you call me a whinging Kiwi getting his "World Cup excuses ready", these are exactly the same concerns voiced by the President of the South African Rugby Union this year. It's a well known fact that plenty has been missed, and this is just another example. SANZAR needs to take a look at itself once this year is over with, because the way it handles certain incidents leaves a lot to be desired.

Mate I know a few cantabs and I know how much their teams mean to them, it's like family. maybe there hasn't been much whinging on here, but it's generally on the internet at the moment. I can understand kiwis feel short changed. End of the day the judiciary will deal with Skelton and Latus reckless conduct, no need to blow up about it and create a whole public enemy 1 scenario.

I was impressed with Stuart Berry when the Rebels played the Stormers. At the start of the game I was thinking "here we go, wait for the penalties and cards to come out". you know he has a bad rep in Australia and he did a lot to change peoples attitude towards him. much improved.

Couldn't agree more about this pro-Australian officiating, it's a blight on the game. I mean look at the facts - Since 2003 Australian teams have won 3 out of 12 SR ***les. Since 2003 Australia have beaten NZ 5 times out of 30, Australia have never been 1st in IRB rankings and currently 6th and Australia haven't won a world cup since 1999, have won 1 rugby championship/trinations since 2003 and haven't held the bledisloe cup since 2002.

Now tell me how that pro-australian officiating is working out for you? Australian Rugby is in dire straights, we're going to need a LOT more help from these dodgy refs.

I think you are clutching at straws and/or possibly making comments for the sole purpose of getting a reaction out of other members on the forum.
