Reminds me of Jonah Lomu Rugby game, back in 97', fend fend fend.
Anything in particular you disagree with?well, she's annoying....
Really? It's a fairly commonly-held belief in my experience. Not saying I know whether it was intended that way, but can see why people might assume so.
Jerusalem is a much better song, much more stirring and emotive. But it isn't the song of English rugby, and that's just the point for me
No, you categorically stated that "the story of how it started was racist". This gets dredged up every once in a while when the Grauniad and their ilk are short on stories, but I've never heard an accound of the origin of Swing Low being an anthem told any different to how Wikipedia tells it - it was sung because Oti is an old boy of the Benedictine school, not because he is black.
I hate the idea that it should be done away with because people too ignorant or lazy to find out the origin of the song and its use in rugby might be offended, but then I live in a country in which people worry about the racist implications of ordering a black coffee!

There are plenty of songs that I would prefer to hear, Jerusalem being one of my favourites, but it's a moot point. Singing Jerusalem required a vocal range and a memory. When's the last time the "supporters" at Twickenham got past the chorus of Swing Low and on to the first verse?!?
Anything in particular you disagree with?
For me, she's spot on, and her story is something I can relate to. I hide my sexuality in general, not because I'm worried about negativity towards it, but because I'm tremendously introverted and hate being in the spotlight. I don't want to be politicised for my sexuality.
And this draws parallels with Chris Oti. Unless he himself drew attention to his race, it's generally unwelcome for others to do it for him (even if in a positive light).
Okay slightly tangential here but would rather talk about this than some song a bunch of rugby fans sing when on top or to gee up their team.Absolutely no problem with what she's saying, i agree with her I merely find HER annoying - in style and delivery.
Though, and i want to be a little careful here, i do find it a bit ironic that she's telling people off for unwanted attention on Youtube.
I hate it and I hate the actions pricks do with it.
Hahahahahah lets do a w*****g sign when we sing coming forth..... Because we are such Lads and banter masters.
Mind you in general I hate the twickenham crowd anyone up themselves pricks full of "Lads" who will never accomplish much on a rugby field but are the armchair masters.
If you haven't guess I hate the whole Lad culture.
Rant over........ For now.
Jerusalem would be amazing though.
You're sound with drinking loads of pints though right?
