Should be a cracker of a game.
If the Cheetahs can hold up at the breakdowns that can take this one

They'll have to stay in touch like they did against the Chiefs but unlike the Chiefs they mustn't allow two quick tries LOL. Hosea Gear is going to be a handful. If Le Roux can contain him (he joins the line from his wing brilliantly) they'll stand a chance.

why is the highlanders always the last team to be announced? a man's gotta put his fantasy team together ffs!

Gear has shown alot of Glimpse's of breaking a game wide open, i'm hoping to see him tear it up on a nice dry RSA track

we should have Ben smith back too and ellison back into the 13 jersey

cant imagine and surprises in the team backline will be smith, Delany, Gear, Treeby, Ellison, Buxton? and smith at the back

HIGHLANDERS: Ben Smith, Buxton Popoali'i, Tamati Ellison, Shaun Treeby, Hosea Gear, Mike Delany, Aaron Smith, Nasi Manu, James Haskell, Adam Thomson, Jarrad Hoeata, Josh Bekhuis, Chris King, Andrew Hore, Jamie Mackintosh (captain). Reserves: Jason Rutledge, Ma'afu Fia, Culum Retallick, Doug Tietjens, Jimmy Cowan, Chris Noakes, Siale Piutau

just named, no surprises but great to see Piutau back in the squad

I really want to know what the deal with Kurt Baker is, was a big signing for us last year and then broke his back and so never played. back in this year but has only been on as a last resort.

He is a fullback but when B smith got injured, against the Tahs i think, they perfered buxton to come on at fullback over Baker...

then Slade, who was just back from injury, was favoured to cover fullback (whilst Smith was injured)...

..then last week Ellison got the nod to start at fullback over him...

...now, he's not even in the squad with a guy just coming back from injury favoured!

^ Joseph musn't rate him or something. I reckon he is a good player, better than Buxton at 15 anyway. He is injury free as far as i know.

What happened to the Highlanders? they started out so strong and now a match against the Cheetahs is going to be a hard game? :\ I suppose the Reds aren't doing much better T_T

I would say all the games we have won have been hard so I dont think anythings changed. The real positive I take from the season so far is the games we have closed out where in the past we wOuld have lost

It's winning the hard ones that shows the real metal

Cheetahs' backline and interplay is lovely to watch. Goosen...

Haskell is lucky not to have gotten the red card there, assistant referee suggested it.

I hate this referee. I hate him so much.

If he got a red card it would be very inconsistant with the rest of the season. White card was the best way to precede, considering you don't know what other punches were thrown.

Nation holds it's breath... Well said by commentators, hope Goosen is going to be okay.

Agreed, yellow + the white card was the right option. Just saying his lucky he didn't get the red as the assistant referee told marius jonker he thought it was a red.

Edit: I don't want to know what Ebersohn is feeling right now, that must be the worst feeling ever.

To be fair, that was a LOT of pressure he was under. He's a great player but you can clearly see he was very nervous. Especially when taking kicks.

He should of got it, no doubt. And in the end he missed three kicks, and he honestly did cost the Cheetahs the game.

Really, really, really hope Goosen is ok. We need him against the Poms.

Disapointing that the Cheetahs can't seem to summon the BMT to finish off games but highlanders showed great character to pull it back from the depths.

In my opinion playing Goosen this year would be a terrible idea as it is. The quickest way to banish youngsters to obscurity is to over-expose them, something I think Heyneke is aware of, he needs to be nurtured, and get a season or two of Super Rugby or two under his belt before we start thinking about SA selection.

We can have him on the bench atleast.

Andries_Strauss As a team we support Sias, this was not his fault,we should never have put him in that position. He's a great player and has won us many games

Saw that on sarugby.co.za's twitter feed.

Damn straight. Sias is a good player. I feel sorry for the poor guy.

Didn't see that match, what's happened?
Was it a pressure kick missed or something?
