Brumbies just seem like a better rounded team this year, expecting them to go the distance to the play-offs
Especially on defence I can see the Jake White influence

The Rebels will be able to score a try or two against the run of the game but I can't see that influencing what should be a rather comfortable Brumbies win.

Brumbies will be too good. Great performance against the Reds last week.

Rebels have named an unchanged lineup:

15. James O'Connor
14. Lachlan Mitchell
13. Mitch Inman
12. Rory Sidey
11. Richard Kingi
10. Kurtley Beale
9. Nick Phipps
8. Gareth Delve (c)
7. Scott Fuglistaller
6. Scott Higginbotham
5. Luke Jones
4. Hugh Pyle
3. Laurie Weeks
2. Ged Robinson
1. Nic Henderson

16. Shota Horie
17. Paul Alo-Emile
18. Cadeyrn Neville
19. Jarrod Saffy
20. Nic Stirzaker
21. Alex Rokobaro
22. Tom English

I think the Rebels really need to switch JOC and Beale man. They will be alot more dangerous if they did, IMO Beale is NOT a quality first five. JOC just seems to be better suited for the role.

Agreed. Beale has always played his best rugby at 15.

Yeah, and JOC is better suited at 10. I don't know, to me it looks like Beale try's to do too much at 10. Where as JOC has that head on him when he knows the pass is on and when to run... Beale's counter attack from the back is key to his game.

Up until last season I would have agreed Beale was a much better fullback than a first-five. However last season Beale was shocking whenever he played at fullback for the Wallabies or the Rebels - the only time he started to play well again was when he was shifted into 10. He had some superb games for the Rebels at the end of last season, and some strong games for the Wallabies there too. This is not to say he won't play well at fullback again (assuming he has his confidence back), but I can understand why they would play him at 10. The only really disappointing aspect of Beale's game last week was his defense, as he missed a pile of tackles - I thought the rest of his game was pretty good. Personally I'm not sure whether I would go with Beale or O'Connor at 10 - I'm sure they will give Beale a couple more weeks to show what he has got before the consider switching them around...

It's nearly 3:30 am...should I stay up or go to bed...

I HATE these decisions!!

Well, this one is starting off a bit spicy, too...nice try for the Brumbies. I will have to watch the rest of the match later, though...must get some shut-eye.

Bit of a meh game particularly following the Highlanders-Chiefs match. Brumbies looking to start well and winning your conference matches is 1 way to reach the play-offs. Can't see the Brumbies troubling the 'bigger' contenders overly much though especially if they suffer a key injury or two which WILL happen.
