Super Rugby play-off permutations

It will be interesting to see what will happen if the Chiefs win without a Bonus-point try and the Bulls lose within 7 points and also scoring 4 tries... That will leave them both on 65 points, with equal amount of games won. Then it all comes down to points difference I guess...

That being said, I hope the Bulls finish strong. I want a home Semi and Final at Loftus!!

I think if the Bulls finish top then the ***le is as good as theirs. Come on Stormers! :)

The Bulls are missing a few men ATM though; they've held out but the injury curse has caught up with them too.

I think every team is now struggling a bit with injury, this is when depth play such a key role, especially at the business end of the season.

The Bulls has shown that they have the depth, even with guys like Juandre Kruger and Wynand Olivier departing mid-season.

I still think we will be able to pull off a win at newlands, but it's going to be tough.

I'll settle on a draw :)
We won't throw it like the Sharks did , I heard Riaan Viljoen got his new Hilux from McCarthy Toyota Melyn earlier today

I hope the Stormers win but prefer to see the Cheetahs in the play offs :)

Crusaders for the win!! :D

:)

Yeah...right. Like that's gonna happen. :p

I must say that I'd be wigglin' me toesies with joy if they managed to pull it off.

das

You never know with the Saders they have the players, experience and always tend to play better under pressure.

OK how exactly does this work, from my understanding (memory) the top seed plays the lowest ranked team AFTER the "quarters" are finished.

Meaning:
Brumbies(3) vs Cheetahs(6)
Crusaders(4) Vs Reds(5)

So if Brumbies win - they will play the Bulls, if the Cheetahs win - they will play the Chiefs. Obviously the other match is the winner of the other pair.

So any Cheetahs victory:

Chiefs vs Cheetahs
Bulls vs Reds/Crusaders

Any Brumbies victory:
Bulls vs Brumbies
Chiefs vs Reds/Crusaders

Or am I wrong?

Bit ridiculous that the top ranked team will play the third best team in the competition, if everything goes to plan in the quarters... Hardly fair on the Chiefs.

Brumbies/Saders/Bulls
Playing the third best team is hardly strange in the semi's... I mean if it's down to 4 teams you have to play one of them (Bulls/Brumbies/Saders).

Still, the Crusaders are ahead of the Brumbies in terms of competition points and if I were involved in the Chiefs (or the Bulls) team, I'd rather play the Brumbies than the Crusaders. It's not as bad as it was last year, but it does seem a little unfair that the higher ranked team gets the tougher opposition.
