Super Rugby: Bulls - Lions in Pretoria (14/07/2012)

Josh Strauss without his beard looks like Chuck.

Hougaard and Potgeiter have the Bulls back on top just when it was starting to look like a good game, and the Lions need a couple more tries now.

The Bulls only have 2 options left. Missing the play-offs or playing the Crusaders... I don't think they will throw this away like they did last season against the Sharks at Loftus in the final match.

Krusty with a SBW-screw up. Ignoring men outside to go for the try and knocking it on....

The Lions are so kak they haven't even charged down a Hougaard kick.

Actually I thought the Lions didn't play so bad today, except for the lineouts. Their scrum was quite good, and if Murray wasn't such a selfish tool their backline might have been able to do more.

I see Morne Steyn still hasn't gotten much better, except at kicking.

Murray screwed up a couple of times, forgetting to pass but all in all the Bulls deserved the win.

Bulls play the Crusaders next.

This is huge. Sharks vs Reds and Crusaders vs Bulls.

Bulls and Sharks won the encounters in the regular season but they were in South Africa. Crusaders and Reds have home advantage. Interesting that if there was no top conference spot then the Reds would be 6th on the log.

If it's possible and the final is Sharks vs Stormers, I might just end up supporting the Sharks. My love for the Stormers have dwindled this year.

I see it as Reds beating Sharks and Crusaders beating Bulls. Reds vs Chiefs semi and Stormers vs Crusaders semi. Sharks will not beat the Reds now that they have Quade back and at Brisbane.

Yes but Quade might be out with a suspension for a high tackle earlier today. He got a yellow card and a white card (which it is under review)

You either support a team or you don't. Through thick and thin good and bad times. You sound like those Man City and Chelski fans who suddenly appeared out of the cupboard.

Actually Shovenose, the team I've always supported have been the Cheetahs since I was born in the Free State and my mother is a Cheetah supporter, I am however fond of the Stormers and have always loved them because the Boland have become my home now, grew up here and had best times of my life here.

And I didn't actually mean that in a serious manner, it's just disappointing how the Stormers are playing these days, they started doing it mid-season last year. Actually they also started their season like that.

They have so much potential, but hey, if we're making nasty remarks like that then you seem more like one of those stupid bulls supporters that hang around in Benoni and Brakpan.

Just joking, those supporters probably aren't smart enough to use a computer :p

But yeah I'll always support the Cheetahs through thick and thin, and I have faith in them. If they can keep their decent players away from the Sharks they can be crazy. Some of my favorite players have been/are cheetahs: Brussouw, Smith, Os (what a legend) and Goosen. The Stormers I'll always back them, when it comes to a game where Stormers are vs the Cheetahs, things get confusing.

But.. still, being a loyal supporter also means being objective and seeing your side's weaknesses, don't you agree?

The franchise areas are different, yes.

However, both teams reside in the same province (Gauteng). I am Dutch and I even know that! (Have to admit, I lived in Polokwane, Centurion, Phalaborwa and Jo'burg in the 5 years I lived in SA so that might help haha)

The Provinces names might have changed and more have been created but the region where the Bulls (NTVL) draw their players from were always the region known to us now as Limpopo. No matter if Pretoria sits next to Seweto its just where the stadium and HQ is. Old NTVL is the Limpopo

Erm... Yes and no, Limpopo wasn't NTVL, it was Northern Province before it became limpopo, and before the 9 provinces were zoned and named Limpopo fell under NTVL along with Pretoria, Witbank and Rustenburg, which now belong to 3 different regions in Pretoria - Gauteng, Witbank - Mpumalanga and Rustenburg - NorthWest and all 3 have different rugby Unions in Blue Bulls, Pumas and Leopards...

Trying to be over-technical will get you nowhere and trying to make a point when you don't have all the facts and not even living here will not make you get any popular on this forum, so just shut-up and leave it be!
