Some tough games to call there. In particular it'll be hard to split Bradford/Wigan and Huddersfield vs. Hull. Be interesting to see how Leeds react to getting wallopped last weekend as well. Tough game that.

Results so far this weekend:

Friday, 06 March 2009

Huddersfield 20-24 Hull
Salford 18-48 Harlequins RL

Saturday, 07 March 2009

Catalans Dragons 22-24 Castleford
Celtic Crusaders 0-4 St Helens
Wigan 44-10 Bradford

Some very interesting scorelines going down there. Hull continued their great start to the season with a win at Huddersfield, who keep winning away but losing at home. Salford continue to prove why I think they're a waste of a Super League license as well, they are very poor. Don't see what they offer at all.

Saturday also had some eye raising scores. Wouldn't have Cas down to go and win in the south of France but that's 3 in a row for them now and they look a much improved team this year. Les Cats dodgy start continues. Another team who can't win at home. Wigan brushed past a very poor Bradford team, I'll be very surprised if McNamara lasts the weekend. He clearly can't turn it around. I know they have injuries but seriously, some of the tackling tonight was pathetic. All credit to Wigan though who played some top rugby. Even the fat thug looked good tonight.

Weirdest scoreline of the weekend so far though is Crusaders 0 - 4 Saints. Lowest scoring match in Super League history. Sounds like it was played out in shocking conditions and Saints never looked like conceding at any time.

Bradford were very poor but Wigan produced some wonderful attacking rugby league. The dropping of Tim Smith clearly worked... with Tomkins offering so much more to the team especially in defence (Smith is a revolving door!) and the 'senior' players lifted their performances. Hock was superb (apart from his brainfart when he should have passed) and Wigan's left flank looks so, so dangerous at the moment with Hock, Carmont & Ainscough all presenting a serious threat.

Great wins for Cas & Quins and the Stains result will have raised a few eyebrows.

Hull looked reasonably good in parts but I can't but feel that if the passes stick for Huddersfield then they'll trouble a lot of teams. Good to see Horne back and playing good football.

Woohoo! we didnt lose to some team based in the arse end of Northern England. :bana:

Two in a row too bring on L**ds scum next week! :D
