Super 15: Rebels vs Waratahs. AAMI Park (2/3/2012, 08:10 GMT)

Rebels getting a mild humping so far, getting done over in th tight and lose possession in the loose exchanges.

Defensive mishaps caused by, you guessed it, Mr Cipraini in conjuction with O' Connor at fault for the first try (or second) conceded.

Currently 22-6

Vuna missed the tackle on Carter as well, for the first try.

Rebels look good in patches but then just go to pots - very similar to last season.

Aye, but I reckon it was a communication problem between 'Cippers' and O' Connor that lead to them too far apart too late to anything to have stopped Carter, but I digress to a more important point.

Who the hell is the current captain, going for these penalties 23 points down?

I will grudgingly accept that Lawrence hasn't been too bad today, you'd swear he is a competent ref at times...

Lawrence looked fine to me.He's just a referee doing his best.Hysterical squealing by supposed rugby supporters from one country has forever besmirched his reputation. As well as being childish and pathetic, it's also just unfair.

This one country and all rugby playing nations are on the same platform in judging him in that one specific match, apart from one nation that benefited from it, how childish and pathetic it was indeed.

One country?

I have never heard one supporter, South African, Australian, English, Scottish or from anywhere ever* say that they are glad that Bryce Lawrence is going to ref a match his/ her team is involved in.

Are you going to be the first?

*Unless the alternative is either Stuart Dickinson

This is rather off topic now. I'm sure most agree Bryce has been alright so far in 2012. Moving on...

Tom Carter scoring a double  He is outperforming wallaby centre Rob Horne currently.

Or Wayne Barnes.

Or Wayne Barnes.

Hmmm, seems I forgot to type that, otherwise I am disappointed no-one ridiculed me for the incorrect use of either.

But yes, either Dickinson or Barnes.

For how long are people going to say that Tom Carter playing well is something odd? He was already the most consistent centre in Australia last year. Certainly, he has no creative ability whatsoever, but his defence is very good, he runs good lines and (I'm sure I saw this somewhere) he was in the top 3 of most statistics for a centre.
I think the rebels will once again finish in the bottom 3 of the log like last year...
I think third from last would be considered a good season

Yep, Carter has been excellent for the Tahs for a while now. Don't know about calling him underrated because he has his limitations, but I sure as hell love watching him play.

Agreed, I'm a big fan of Carter.
He's no world beater, but he's a consistent Super XV performer.

I like to think of him as Australia's answer to Wynand Olivier.

xD

Adam Byrnes has been banned for 10 weeks for gouging.

Don't think this is a big loss for Rebels as I don't rate him.
He's also a knobhead for gouging in the first place.

I was at the game on friday night and as much as the rebels defence was dissapointing I observed carter in guys faces, pushing blokes while on the ground and off the ball. he was lucky to be the beneficiary of 2 tries because he spent most of the game concerned with starting fights. there were two scuffles which he was involved in along with the 'byrnes incident'. they both had a hold of eachother and byrnes put his arm around carters head to try to pry him away. contact was made with the face but neither the replay nor any footage on the net shows conclusive and deliberate eye gouging. certainly nothing like the italy vs. ireland world cup match. next thing you see carter in bryce lawrence's face saying that he'd been eye gouged. all this after what came out in the media during the week, he's now able to turn himself into the victim when he's the one dishing it out every week.

tom carter = biggest ****** in australian rugby

Lol, do you know what the best part is?

Don't know if you have seen the little excerpts (sp) of round one yet done your side, but at 79:33 of the Waratahs/ Reds game, Carter was in a Reds player's face at a ruck, 'sledging' him, as opposed to getting back in defence, where the presence of one more player would have been sufficient to stop the Reds' try.

Interesting what you say of the Byrnes incident, I have seen any footage of the incident either, would be interesting to read the notes/ minutes/ whatever of the hearing that took place....

Rob Horne was always overated imo and for a guy who's always injured we havent really seen much of him apart from his rookie year. I dont rate him and dont understand Dingoes fascination with him?????
