Steve Walsh Retires

Is there such thing as England fan happy dance...

TBF he was fine in our last match he did but still have hard job respecting him.

Who is doing the England match instead?

Nigel Owens apparently!
 
he didn't ref the the England ireland (I think) game because of business commitments.

I actually liked him, and his hair of course, i thought he let game flow well.

He was a babe. voted sexiest ref 8 times, would have been 9 but Jonathan Kaplan had a lucky year.

I've always quite liked Steve Walsh as a ref. The last few weeks have been a bit strange (dropping out of the 6N but then reffing Super Rugby that day) - anyone know what he's going into now?

This means Glen Jackson will be getting more serious internationals, too.....brilliant.
 
I'm on the fence about him. I didn't like his refereeing style most of the time, but he did make the right calls most of the time.

I think the timing is a bit off. Especially at a time when the other referees are under scrutiny. He was one of the few who always came out on top, even after recieving a lot of flak.

I would have had no problem if he was the referee in this year's RWC final between SA and Ireland...

He's bought a business on the Gold Coast, reports that it's a Hair Salon are as yet unconfirmed.

No seriously he has bought a business on the Gold Coast not sure what exactly.

I heard it was a barber shop with an in-house bar...

Apparently he's calling it the "Barbar Shop" but you have to pronounce it in a very strong Aussie Accent.
 
England's chances of winning the world cup have just increased, from about 10 % to 15 %!
 
Good. Did some research a while back and found out, since 2003, England have only won 2 of the 11 internationals he has reffed for us. Considering our overall win % over the same time was between 60 and 70%...
 
Thanks for trying to stop me looking like a biased fool, ragerancher. I'm not suggesting that he was biased against England, just that the way he refereed the game didn't suit England. I also didn't like the way that he seemed to think that he was one of the stars of the game.
 
In my Irish oral for my leaving cert, I remember I ended up spending a good amount of time discussing how hot Steve Walsh was with the examiner. He will be missed.
