I've been thinking about these two coaches and I think their combined styles with Pieter De Villiers has the potential to breed a great brand of Bok rugby.
I'm not sure what exactly Gold's style was with London Irish but he has sculpted the Stormers pack into an extremely mobile and efficient pack of late. Injuries have dented this recently but we all saw the Stormers come back this season. The forwards were, literally, the driving force behind that.
Muir has had a tough year with the Sharks backline so far but his reputation as an unpredictable back in his Bok and professional playing career has followed him into his coaching. Put it this way, this man knows how to find and make gaps in a defense line. A clinical finish has been a flaw in his game strategies and plans so far, but perhaps that's because of the young, impatient and impulsive nature of the current Natal backs.
Very exciting times ahead!
