who would you say are the 5 fastest backs and the 5 fastest forwards in the premiership? i know this thread israther pointless but idk thoght it would be fun

Jonny May
Tom Varndell
Joe Simpson

Tom Croft
Tom Guest

The first names to spring into my head.

"deemonz" offends me deeply.

Rob Miller is pretty quick, easily fastest in the Sale team, and I've not seen anyone outrun him this season.

fastest backs (1-5)

1.Christian Wade
2.Ben Foden
3.Tom Varndell
4.Ugo Monye
5.Joe simpson

fastest forwards (1-5)
1.Tom Croft
2.Schalk Brits
3.The rest are fat and slow? I've no Idea

IMO

Sharples, May, Wade, Ojo, Ashton ?

Croft, Waldrom, Narraway?, Hard to say with forwards.

Foden the 2nd fastest back in the prem?!
Since when?!

He's pretty quick, but in terms of a back three "speedster" I wouldn't have him up there.
Like RAWWeyman said, you'd be looking at Sharples, Ashton, Wade etc.

well may is ment to be the fastest at gloucester sooo should eb ahead of sharples?

backs:
1. may
2. sharples
3. varndell
4. miller
5. wade
Forwards:
1. Croft
2. saull
3. brits
4. gray? london irish youngster..
5. gaskell

Saw the ***le of this thread and had to laugh, then noticed some of the grammar and punctuation from some posts. Seriously; whatever happened to capital letters, full words etc.

Feel like this sometimes:

im dsylexic so i apologise for my lack of pucuation and terrible spelling :/

"Deamonz" isn't a result of dyslexia. "Deamonz" is a result of being "Kool". So says the man who actually cannot spell, but thankfully Chrome has a rather good spell checker.

Anyway, fast backs:
Wade
Varndell
Ashton
Sharples
Ojo
Short
Elliott
Monye and Cato used to be up there
Wyles
Guess what- they're all wingers.

Fast forwards:
Croft
Brits
Wood
Lawes
Errr...

Isn't Wood quite fast?
I've seen a couple of winger-ish tires from Tonga'uiha, but I don't know if that puts him up there. I admit not watching the premiership enough to fully answer this question.

Vernon is quite fast was the 2nd fastest at Glasgow a few years ago him Croft and Brits I'd say are the fastest forwards.

Luther Burrell has, apparently, a very quick straight-line speed. He was a sprinter through school, putting in good times, and thinks he's faster now than before.
In the interview I watched with this it said that David Seymour did pre-season in the "fast group" with Will Addison/Luther Burrell/Rob Miller etc.
Not seen him put in any big breaks like Croft/Guest in a game, but yeah, apparently pretty speedy

No sevens footage on youtube?

There's fast, and then there's fast for a Prop.

You don't see most forwards run with ball in hand enough to gauge their speeds on a regular basis. Croft almost certainly the fastest forward in the Premiership though. Only comparable forward I can think of is Ferris.

Foden was quicker then ashton in the England speed test last year befor the World cup (Foden and simpson were tied top) secondly sharples isnt even the quickest in the glouster team (Jonny May) according to te sky sports commentating team
