oo finally your using photoshop!! 
i like the link one a lot
nicework there, looks like your begining to learn how to use some new picture effects judging by the link and the luis garcia ones
keep working, using different techniques and trust me you'll learn a lot.. maybe be better than teh mite and I!
a good picture effect to try (works mostly better on black guys) is
duplicate the picture layer
set the bottom layer to image>adjustments>desaturate
and set the duplicated to "color dodge"
like i said it works better on black guys because on some white guy pictures it will make them far to pale.. just experiment!
