So how fast is everyone

Don't quote me on this, but i heard that Habana can run 100m in 10s on grass.

Can anyone confirm or deny that?

How am I faster than Ewe?

...which is faster grass or track?

Track.
If you're 11.5 on grass i'd say you're a pretty quick lad.

Im no slouch, but im not really fit enough, im much better over shorter distances, give me a few yards of space and i can go the length of the pitch..... trouble is its all over after that and i can't do anything for the next 30 mins :p

Being a cyborg from the future does help, doesn't it. I just forget sometimes because I feel so human...I blame it on all the John Mayer they play on the radio.

I'm 6'2" and run 100m in 11.4, on track that is
but i can't tackle for shite..

I think the important thing in a rugby sense is how fast you are over say 10-15 metres. Its explosive pace that matters to the rugby player, obviously i have this in abundance being a 6 foot 16 stone Tighthead prop!

I am slow....very slow. Probably cause I'm a hooker with mahoosive legs.

11.2 secs on grass (180 cm, 81 kg) - we used to run across the cricket crease, because nobody in Ireland has use for such a thing.

Anybody got a link to standardised times for the fastest players today - or would that just be a load of hype to intimidate the opposition?

They say David Wallace, Ireland's flanker, is the fastest in the international squad.

Brian Habana looks the speediest to me.

I am quoting you. And I can't confirm or deny. But that converts to the world record for 100m track. He does be fast, but not that fast.

yeah i'm a winger hence the name :p
the name is cos i don't lift my feet that high when i run so i kind of glide lol

We're doing 3 man tackle tunnels at school at the moment so my tackling is improving, slowly but surely, anyone got any tips specificly for tall thin yet fast players.

cheers guys

Drink as much beer as you can, as often as possible. Follow this with a copious amount of pasty eating and with a little dedication and time maybe someday youll attain the ultimate goal of becoming............................ A PROP!

Actually the world record is currently held by Jamaica's Asafa Powell at 9.77 seconds. 10 seconds flat is good enough to consider being an olympian though. I do believe Tom Varndell is reputed to have clocked a 10.1 or 10.2 on grass in his socks. watching him play I do believe it even though he can't really play. Maybe he should go to the olympics.

varndell is an awesome sight to see in full flight..

but come on kiddies...jonah takes the cake in his hey days...6ft5 and unning at his speed...freak of nature fo sho!

my best time ever was 13seconds when i was 16 on grass..not bad for a prop...lost alotta long range speed..short distances im ok...need 2 lay off tha bees for abit

Yes, but Habana did 10 flat on grass, which would convert to nearing world record pace on track
