Sights from history

This is quite a morbid thread, but my massive fascination with history leads me to want to see things from the past which were massive for the course of history. If you could be at historical events, which historical events would it be?

- Hiroshima - I sincerely hope that we never see the familiar mushroom cloud ever again, but right towards the top of places in history I would like to have been are in Enola Gay's cockpit on August 6th, 1945. This changed the world forever. I emphasise though - in the cockpit. I don't think anyone would have wanted to have seen what went on in the city itself.

- ***anic - I know everything about the ***anic sinking, I have done since I was a small child, it's something I have studied in great detail. It was of course a massively important maritime historical event, and whilst again it would have been massively distressing, watching the dreams of mankind slip under the waves.

That will do for now, there are so many things of course.

Russia turning against Germany in WW2. If not for that, we may be speaking German right now; wearing a head of blonde hair with blues eyes...
Also, it's possibly that the slightest thing can change history dramatically:

You choosing not to ********** tomorrow night may cause the end of the World in a few decades whereas it would have remained intact otherwise!

From a Ray Mears program.. on the skeleton coast of Namibia. The crew of the Dunedin Star that run-aground and for two weeks had to survive in desolate desert until the trucks from Windhoek arrived, which took over 3 weeks of driving through uncharted desert. The trucks on the horizon would have been a great thing to see. It's one of Africa's greatest rescue stories.

Or the look the germans gave the linesman in '66 after THAT goal. I bet they wanted to kick his ass!

battle of gangamela Alexander's 40,000 smashing a persian force of 250,000 on his way to babylon... other than that battle of lepanto and if i happened the seige of troy. even if it didnt it has had more impact than most real battles. when you consider achilles he is pretty much held up as the perfect warrior in western culture. fortune and glory and that

Well I vote for World War 1 and the 2nd ones, WW2 took more than 45 million lives

And vote especially for Dachau and Auschwitz concentrating camps

Also remind Maodzedong "cultural revolution" sweeping up to 15 000 000 lives.

Also vote for Vietnam and Afgan wars driven by USA and Russia respectively

Vote for Chechnya war where numerous people died from Russian and Chechnya sides

Also remind about 11 September New York

What about the mushroom, could be better if nobody sees it NEVER

When the wheel was invented, the concept/invention of numbers, when people learned how to control electricity, the discovery of oil and the utilization of it, Columbus discovering the New World, and Windows 95.

I would want to see the newly trained Australian militia face up to the might of the previously undefeated Japanese army at the Kokoda trail, if they hadn't of held the Japs Port Moresby would have been used as a launching point to Australia and the US would not have their sanctuary therefore without that battle the Pacific would be a Japanese pond.

I would have liked to witness what really happened with the Tunguska event, I mean it sort of freaks me out that back in 1908 there was -something- that caused an explosion at least 1/3rd the size of Tsar Bomba and sent a shockwave around the world a couple of times, it even spooked some horses in the USA and the event happened in Krasnoyarsk Krai Russia.

it could have been a metoer fine, but what if it wasn't ?

I'd also liked to have witnessed the Vela Incident, just for curiosities sake.

* Just a note to all posters... The phrase "would of" does not exist! Please. I cant take it anymore! It's would HAVE! Example:

WRONG - I would of wanted to.

RIGHT - I would have wanted to.

Whew, anyway, i would have also liked to be there the day the first toilet roll was invented.

Writing my last post:I would of gotta oxford dictionary and then I would of checked to see if I got my spelling right and would of found that it has nothing to do with my spelling but more to do with the words I chose to type. I still would of probably made more sense in my last post instead of just typing incorrectly which would of made my post more understandable.

You still understand what I mean so it doesn't really matter or would of it been better that I would of used would have instead of using would of. Because to be honest it kinda sounds like it would of sounded a bit more betterer and properer lol.

The Battle of Talas in 751 between Arabs and Chinese in Kirghizstan. Turning point in history.

Saddam Hussein was the men who made Genocyde of nations living in North Iraq

And also if we take a look at history of mankind we see that up to 85-90% of the time was spent on killing, murders, war campaigns and etc. I think enough with these.

I think:
