Surprised not to see Warbs on that list. He was immense.

POC or AWJ for me as well.

Between POC and Youngs being the most popular.

Didn't notice that. Shocked as Warburton was genuinely 1 of best players in tournament. His display against us was worthy of nomination too.

would love to say Stuart Hogg but in reality probably Jonathan Joseph or Paul O'Connell

No question POC or AWJ. Head and shoulders (‹see what I did there?) above the other contenders for me.

Yeah POC for me too. Winning 6N's back to back as captain is worthy of recognition.

By all accounts he drags the team forward. Certainly did in the second half against Scotland.

The shortlisting methodology just... isn't good. They calculated each player's worth statistically, weighting the "most important" actions.

I suspect context of an action wasn't accounted for (e.g. a missed tackle marked negatively, even if it was a "good missed tackle"). There's also a question over the arbitrariness of scoring each action. (e.g. what is a try worth compared to a turnover?) Then there's the penalising of players positionally. (Front rowers never show nicely in the stats compared to others, whereas fullbacks show very nicely.) And many more problems.

I suppose it is an improvement on the shortlist being made up of all the man of the match winners though. I just don't understand why they don't decide the shortlist by panel.

POC by a stretch I'd say. JJ and AWJ also in with a shout.

Glad Biggar made the cut as he was excellent and worthy of a nomination, but I'm surprised at the Warbs omission.

I would have voted for Warbs, but i's got to be POC or AWJ, either will do fine.

Parrise? was he really that good this year? the young 13 stood out for Italy this year scored a cracking try against us.
