Scott La Valla signs for Stade Français

Guys, its official.. 22 year old USA secondrower, Scott La Valla has signed for Stade Français. I´m trying to find out the details of the contract but its confirmed that he´ll play in Paris. Not a bad step forward from his Irish University side, Dublin University Football Club (DUFC).

Woah, that's one hell of a step up from playing with a club like Trinity. (No offence to Feicarsinn, then again Stade isn't much of a club at the moment. ) Hope he does well at Stade though, watched him when he was playing in the Ulster Bank League, also saw highlights of him playing 7s. Seems like a decent lad, wish him all the best.

Yeah, Division 2 AIL to Top 14 is a pretty big step up. As for today's result, I wouldn't go reading too much into it. We all knew they had bugger all depth. Add Todd Cleaver, Louis Stanfill, Inaki Basauri to the back row and the likes of Takudzwa Ngwenya out wide and they may be a tough enough nut to crack.

a bit of a shame the USA can't get their best team, they don't have that many matches in the first place one would of hoped they get their best team for their only annual competition.

Premiership Rugby are making a stand. Argentina were denied its Aviva Premiership players for yesterdays match vs the French Barbarians. Even Ignacio Mieres (Exeter) was not released and he is a no chance for the World Cup and didn´t play aol that much this season.

Emerick... yip, still good. I´d have him on the bench to cover wing and centre but woulld actually play him at 13 vs Ireland. I was watching USA vs Uruguay from 2008 a few days ago. Emerick was the standout back. Between him and Todd Clever the USA got the win.

If interest here is the match:



LaValla... should be in the squad, the bench spot is between him and Samu Manoa who will be playing for Northampton next season. At this stage I´d go for Manoa but I think it could go either way. It´ll all depend on the home and away USA vs Canada matches in August.

Premiership Rugby has agreed to release players to England and has been paid for it - and now refuses to hand out for free what it charges England for, given how it would weaken their negotiating position. Its not a terribly noble position, but in the context of English rugby its hard to ignore the logic of it. The fact other leagues/clubs choose not to is their affair.

Should those players choose to ignore their club contracts and Premiership Rugby's edicts, that's their choice, but I don't see it ending well. They knew what their contracts said when they signed them. Its not like this is new.

Hard to blame the English really as the law says international window and its not so.... Plus, they are making the players better which is something they can´t have happen to them while playing at home. Why else is Argentina so good today.... Besides Tonga will miss players vs the USA tommorrow who are not released from the New Zealand or Australia super rugby teams. Works both ways.....

Ulster & Emerick... True. He left in late december but its still his last registered club which is why he is bracketed as being Ulster. I bracket Agustín Creevy as San Luis or Los Pamoas despute being off to Montpellier after the World Cup.
